He goes from a sweet toned, hard swinging style, to playing Garzone esque ultra modern / outside shapes, then back to beautiful traditional jazz language. What a beast ! What a master ! Ed Tomassi You are the real deal !
Ed Tomassi is one of the most well respected musicians on the scene today and rightfully so one of the most sought after improv instructors at Berklee College of Music. A real giant. A world class musician that can stand on any stage, anywhere, with anyone! Period! One of the funniest people you will ever meet and a beautiful cat to boot! An inspiration, truly a sweetheart, and a real pleasure to know. One of the best!
I had the great honor of studying with Eddie for a few semesters back in 2000. What a an incredible teacher he is. He really taught me how to dissect and analyze improvising. Lots of transcriptions. He made us transcribe Eric Dolphy. Wow, I'm glad I did it though;)
WOW! I never heard Ed before and never took any of his classes either. I heard he was to hard;) He sounds great , reminds me a little bit of my man George Garzone.
What's with all the Italian Tenors?? Bergonzi-Garzone-Tomassi-Lavano- etc.etc.
I often think the same thing. There's a ton of them, just at Berklee alone. Don't leave out Dino Govoni. He's no slouch, haha. Pretty much anyone here who's name name ends in a vowel is a nasty player. Rick DiMuzio especially.
I'm psyched to be taking classes with Ed next semester. He knows his shit!
ET is the best! The person BergonziJerry is from Germany and is NOT Jerry Bergonzi, who by the way is good friends with Eddie. Ed Tomassi is not only a monster musician and sax player, he is also one of the most sought after teachers at Berklee. People from around the world request his classes! The guy who said this is horrible is wrong . . . it's GREAT!!!!
it's a Mark VI, I think that is of the latest years, approx. 140xxx-230xxx
