  • looks nice ut for me the nes game of batman the movie is better, even that is not the same game , the nes game is more like a ninja giden type .

  • @vidium sorry for the late reply.

yeah the Nes version is amazing, the other Batman game i like is the gameboy game

  • I like all the versions, but you could edit your voice in Cool Edit or Audacity, because when you say "b" or "p" it sounds like an exploding grenade :) It is simple, open the equalizer and cut off all the low frequencies below 500 Hz

  • @Abrimaal hey there, i have been thinking of getting one of those pop gaurds that prevent all that, as i also do the podcast,

i will also try the audacitiy thing to as i use that to record 1HMPS Retro podcast:)

  • After playing the speccy version since it was released, the C64 version has shite gameplay. The Amiga version is utterly fantastic though, and the baddies are tougher with better AI.

  • Is the Atari console version the same of the home computer version?

  • Great video mate. :) Did you know there was an Arcade version of Batman: The Movie which is more or less the same layout as the 8-bit versions?

  • @yethboth hey there buddy:) i knew there was arcade game of this bu i dont think i ever played it? who was it made by?

  • @locomaniacs1hmps The Arcade version was made and released by Atari Games. :)

  • @locomaniacs1hmps Too bad you guys in the U.K. got screwed by the Barbie Bastards of Mattel who overpriced the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) over there since it's was a good system and it had a nice Batman NES game by Sunsoft. Thankfully there is Wii Virtual Console that the games can be played with a NES pad via a Retroport adapter from Retrozone so you can play the NES games you missed out on or NES emulation like FCEUltra and Retrozone make a USB Retroport too.

  • @yethboth just check it out on youtube, it looks good but does batman not have his bat rope thing to swing from on this version?

  • @locomaniacs1hmps I'm not too sure on the Arcade version. I will probably have a play on this on MAME to check out the differences between the Arcade version and the Home Computer versions. :)

  • Man, I remember seeing the Amiga version of this and almost crying with jealousy.

  • @marcusmalone i probally would have felt the same, had i seen the amiga version properly in action, the closest i got to seeing the amiga version back in the day was on the back of the box, where it showed off the amazing batmobile section

  • Batman for the C64 is hard as shit. I could never get past that last level.

  • @suspekt29 haha i only got the last level once lol couldnt get past the batwing thing nowdays

  • I have the Spectrum version and I am really impressed with the Amstrad version, only thing I don't like about it is that unlike the Speccy version the sound effects interfere with the music because the Speccy used the beeper for effects.

  • @LairdOfForsyth

From what I recall, it was only Ocean that tended to use both audio chips in the Spectrum 128/+2/+3, with the three-channel Yamaha AY-3-8912 being employed for music and the beeper for sound effects. Midnight Resistance, Robocop 1& 2 and Chase HQ also did this. I often wondered how they managed to pull this off considering the beeper itself was directly driven by the Z80 and ate up a lot of processing power unless the architecture was different in the non-48k models.

  • @uknortherner2000 yeah you are right about that, the 1t time i heard that was on Chase HQ, i just couldnt believe how good it sounded

  • @LairdOfForsyth the speccy music was better i guess

  • Awesome video, thanks, i really enjoyed this being a Speccy, Amstrad, C64 owner back in the 90's...but...the only version I ever played of this as a kid was the Amiga...and lots at that. Id say the C64 version was deffo going for the look and feel and sound of the Amiga version which is understandable being a commodore.

  • @RibNSpicY you are rught about that as they look very similer, great game over all:)

  • one of the few games where the developer put a respectable amount of effort into each port to play well and make good use of the respective machine. I prefure the c64 version purly for the music, id load the game up just for the tunes ! ;) Great game on all 3 though. the Amiga 16bit version I still play on and off today !

  • @AmigaOmega as much as i like the amiga version(ive been playing it a bit recently)i still prefer the 8bit versions for some reason? nostalgia perhaps?

  • I do agree with your choice, I think the Amstrad version got the right mix and balance of everything right.

Btw - sent you an email which should hopefully sort your audio sync issues when doing the Amstrad footage :)

  • @Xyphoe thanks for the email buddy:)

yeah the cpc 464 version was really good

  • Ocean did well with the Batman license. I remember wasting many hours on the speccy version.

I was disappointed with the driving and flying levels, when it was first released, as I was expecting it to be rear view like the atari version.

It was still a great version and one of my favourite games on the spectrum to date.
