  • I am in the process of researching a similar implementation. (accelerometers, proximity sensors, bend sensors etc.) All installed on a dancer (myself) to control different aspects of sound/video via puredata. Could you tell me about any hurdles/challenges you've encountered setting up this sort of system.

  • too many to talk about in a 500 character comment box, email me and we can talk.

  • Nice work! I'm curious, what did you use for the sensors? I've seen some built with diy conductive-fabric bend sensors which worked decently, and then the myoelectric that daito has done, which is amazing but awkward and limiting to set up... it seems like with your project you've gotten quite decent sensitivity to movement.

  • infusion systems icubex microdig wireless. It takes 8 sensor inputs, is tiny, and communicates on bluetooth. Its a bit expensive and if it were funded by my own money I dont think I could have afforded it, but MOCA was ultra rad and bought it for us. We mainly used 2 dimensional accelerometers on the lower arms and bend sensors on the back of the knees.

  • interesting ceoncept but not amazing or anything... i love experimental electronic music and nice eyecandy, but this isn't really doing anything for me.

  • we had about 1 week to create the entire performance. I think we would do something much more in depth if we had another opportunity, but the dancer moved out of town. If I could find a good dancer I might try something new. Granted its not perfect but can you show me something like it that is better? I think its not too bad for programming custom software and sensor suit in one week.

  • I didn't know it's your personal work. I don't know that you'd need the same dancer because the dancer was part of the problem for me, even though she's the one the sensors are reading from. It is an interesting and new form of art. It's cool that you know how to program that stuff. The visuals do look really professional and clean. The audio sounds like some Autechre stuff, if I had to pin it down.

  • very interesting.

  • nice modulate vsp vibrator sensory perception it taste like spaceship!!..

all the time multiple audio players on throat or through in the livening residence space turning up n down volumes dj gravity old cd tape dvd ect !!.. h t t p://one.revver dot com/watch/367959/flv/affiliate/98050

  • spaceship favor was always my favorite

  • wonderful.. i would love to incorporate this into our performances.
