I ride an old one on nice days. But I have ridden the new ones with the auto transmission. Both of them feel great. It's the style, the power, the quality of parts and pleasure you get from popping around on it. I learned so much about mine when I stripped it down to nothing, all parts, wires, cables, wheel etc. etc were removed to just create a shell. Then...I saw how innovative the designer was, he copied nothing that was existing. Great invention
