  • why does the trunk always pops open during the crash test of this car.

  • @ralph0722 that is because is an adaptative airbag that reduces the load in the chest of the driver. Really

  • If you want to see a really bad car look up the Chevy Aveo crash test. The Yaris is actually 4 star rating in all categories.

  • @sammyvick123 i dont trust toyota look at the 2010 camry hybrid crash test it got 4 stars and the passanger compartment starts to collapse and it doesnt do all that well

  • These crash tests are deceiving. Has anyone seen the Yaris vs Camry crash test? The Yaris gets it's ass kicked. No matter how safe a car is against a barrier, the story can change big time when it hits another automobile.

  • ok so my yaris 5 door 2010 has more air bags than congress. Just sayin'

  • airbag did great lol

  • The Yaris seems to like hitting stationary objects vs moving objects

  • that airbag's way too weak.

  • ok this yaris was ok but when u look at the yaris vs camary the yaris fuckin FAILS they sure that the test was done at 40mph

  • Becuz of the laws of physics , this test done here applies only if the Yaris hits a next car of similar weight and size being no more than 150 kgs more or 150 kgs less than that of the weight of the Yaris...the Camry is a midsize car hence the weight is much greater than the Yaris reason for the Yaris obtaining more damage in that offset test you are talking bout

  • @firedemon101 i would say maybe even just 70-80kg in either way

  • yup

  • @firedemon101 True but if youch check the crashtest between Audi Q7 and Fiat 500 you will see that 500 being a lot smaller and lighter than Q7 doesn't get as much damage as the Yaris

  • this car was indonesian designer, well, indonesian sucks!

  • wtf the trunk opens? piece of shit

  • @maxou5757 who gives a shit if the trunk opened at least your not dead

  • @maxou5757 toyota designs their car's so the energy is transferred to the trunk/rear of the car instead of the front of the car, protecting the passengers.

  • @JimmyUnlimit3d That I dont belive is true. Eventually that energy travels the 'crumple zones" to the cabin in wich the cabin will buckle in real-life situations. No one wins.

  • @JimmyUnlimit3d oh... so that's why trunk has opened instantly just after the boom! ;)

    just kiddin' :D

  • useless airbag.....

  • I always wondered what they did with those crash cars..fix em and sell them as salvaged?

  • @MrHasie Thier innards are probobly trashed so thier prolly recycled.

  • @MrHasie

In NO WAY do they fix them, because it would cost more to fix than to otherwise. Also, keep in mind that the state which you reside in, may require you to total a car; in the case that it is not totaled, then you will have to re-register the vehicle back with the county and pass inspections. Last but not least, it's also a hassle to insure a vehicle that has the salvage title on it.

  • Thats the area were the dummy sits. They use them to determine how much intrusion occurs in the cabin on that side.

  • k thanks

  • how much speed do you think he was doing?

  • 40 mph

  • I have a 2009 Toyota Yaris.

The Toyota Echo didn't live up to it's name/standards, it didn't echo!

  • Dude the Toyota Echo Was SHIT.

  • i was going to buy this... now i'm considering buying a war tank :)

  • a war tank sounds good! lol

  • how does the trunk come out? o:

  • one small accident and the car is scrap. Good thing there are air bags

  • Honest to god, these cars are not meant for america. Our cars are some of the biggest in the world. I mean get hit by a cadillac escalade ESV and you're dead.

  • this got 3 stars hahahahhahahahahahahhaha

  • that is Toyota Vios!

  • not in america

  • Pretty hard and if you noticed its head hit the top of the door.

  • LOL theres something funny about the mirror flying off

  • HAHAHA, YOUR RIGHT!!

  • damnit lunch would of came out of the trunk.

  • i crash 130kmh in concrete barrier.. this thing save life trust me..

  • That's Toyota. Look at the specs for a similar small-sized Chevy. Good luck keeping your head on.

  • do most of the cars crashed have their trunk come open??

  • That's just the energy being absorbed, 321SCARY

  • ok...so they want to test crash a yaris who's seatbelt is not even working (doesn't lock).

    good video...

  • It's equipped with pre-tensions.

  • seems really good for a car with such a short front end.

  • Exillent ..
