I understand what you mean about the sympathy. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I've learned that I don't mind people acknowledging it, but hate it when they treat me like some sort of invalid. I will tell you that I know several people with bipolar who are doing just fine -just getting a diagnosis was the hardest part. Yay! for knowing what's wrong!
