A WRX with a VF34, intake, DP and tune would murder a stock STI... I don't know what happened to the WRX in this video... Maybe it's not tuned or the description is incorrect? The only thing the stock STI has over the stock WRX is the VF series turbo and a more aggressive tune. Even the gear ratio doesn't help the STI when it comes to straight line sprints...

There really was no race. From a standing start, the WRX will get a better launch w/ all the mods. At 140mph, the STi will not flop around. I have a 2002 WRX which after a Cusco coilover system and up/down/tbe,PnP tb,ic, and clutch/fw, etc., it flopped around... took a wing riser, lip, strakes, louvers, and dams to get it to stick. It isn't a lot of work, it just sounds like it. If that WRX has what I have, it kills STis. It's hard to see any real competition between the cars in this vid though.
@madscanman1 ya my wrx is pretty modded too. and its really walks stock stis.. i raced a 2010 sti.. with just a full tbe.. and got him by buses.. im running a hybrid motor on e85 with a 18g.. on only 19psi.. making 350whp 365wtq.. i got a hair crack on my header.. so after rewelding it, it should make more torque.. and going for 25psi after i get a big MAF cuz mine is maxed..lol, best race i had was vs a 2010 M3, and got him by 2 cars from a 40 to 115mph
My car is the camera car.. It's a 2002 WRX running a Momentum EJ5-40T... Yeah I know, no one has ever heard of it.. It's supposed to be like a big 16G I guess... Something wasn't running right though.. I dyno'ed in at 293whp (maybe 2-3yrs ago?) which should have pulled really good on him.. I did however recently put my OEM catback back on to appeal a ticket for my exhaust so I think that may be really screwing the tune.. Plus there's 125k miles on the engine.. my poor car.. EJ22T swap? 0:-)

Stock wrx's only have 230hp, where the Sti has about 300hp. Even if the wrx had more power the Sti is a 6 speed with shorter gear ratios. Good Video
