The House of Commons has been around for 700 years and in that time the meaning of the word 'Common' has changed. The House of 'Commons' just means the house comprised of people who are not part of the nobility. It isn't supposed to mean MPs are 'common' in the modern sense of the word.

@saabiihaa That diamond in her crown is NOT the Koh-i-Noor. That Diamond is the lesser star of Africa part of the Cullinan Diamond given to Edward VII.
The Koh-I-Noor is a different shape.. smaller and normally set in the crown of the queen consort. Sorry but I can't see it ever being returned a bit like a statue of limitations maybe.

@badharvz There is no diamond in the middle of the cross in this Imperial State Crown. The gem in the middle of this cross is called the Black Prince's Ruby but is actually a spinel. The Diamond set in the front of the band is as I said the 2nd Star of Africa which is far larger than the Koh-i-Noor. The Crown of the Queen Mother currently has the Koh-i-Noor set in its cross but as a crown of a queen consort it would not be used by a ruling queen.
