in cod 5 those are similar except that B is Baker, which i have heard in other military things to. I've heard baker squad more than bravo squad

yea, private millitary's like the marines sometimes use other names. im not sure why though...

That's because back then, in the 1940s the military alphabet was different then the Modern Day Military Alphabet.

the military uses this for radio mostly in case the message gets grabled you can make it out instead of having to repeat the whole message over again
