I do believe that the powers that be in Edmonton would rather see Lucy die than to relinquish her to a better life where she would have elephant companions and a much warmer climate....her happiness is not even on the agenda....I believe the frigid temperatures have frozen their hearts, if they ever had one...
contact the zoo and ASK them to do the right thing for lucy and send her california. remind them about maggie, the alaskan zoo elephant, who is now living the good life in california
Let's not forget about Queenie...Please continue to call e-mail and write...the squeaky wheel gets the oil....we can all multi-task....look at Pat and Ed ...they certainly do....
I just watched a documentary on San Quentin prison and the cages hardened criminals aren't so different. AND LUCY ISN'T A CRIMINAL. Lucy needs to live not in a cage with bars but a lovely environment where she can be with other elephants, walk in pastures, swim in ponds, and sleep under the stars.
Maybe this is not a very good analogy but...this makes me think of the man in calif. that kidnapped that 11 yr old and held her hostage for 18 yrs. and fathered 2 children with her..now that he's caught he says it wasn't like that she was happy. Since Lucy can't speak for herself and we know their propaganda is rubbish I can only hope and pray for Lucy's release from her captors and she can be free at last in an amiable climate...thank you Pat for all you do
I signed a petition to free Lucy

It's criminal the way this elephant is being housed. It is like a "zoo" from the 19th century.
