  • The first time I tried using an NES Max, I couldn't get used to it. I always ended up pressing down on the "cycloid" control instead of gliding it. I lost every game I played.

  • HIGHWAY TO THE NINTENDO ZONE!!!

  • If only if they designed the N64 controller on this one.

  • hey thats Zack the lago maniac!!!

  • It's so bad...

Oh wait, wrong accessory. This controller was actually good.

  • Is that Zack from the Lego commercials?

  • Man even in the nintendo days there was a "rapid fire button" muthafuck...

  • Why were thick shades a necessity for children spokespeople back in the day? Were they blind or sensitive to even a blink of light?

  • @kaihedgie only the cool kids wore welding goggles!

  • Turbo is for the weak. You people probably want to save your progress too.

  • The controller was comfortable, and the turbo buttons good, but the control pad sucked. Having to move it completely side to side to register directions sucked.

  • 0:02 ummm.... what?

  • @TheMarioluigifans The commercial was pulled from an episode of an old game show called Fun House. The editing program wasn't perfect and caught a couple of seconds of it. You can see the Fun House episode on my channel.

  • @dukeofcrydee I sometimes see the UK version repeats on a Game-show dedicated channel sometimes.

  • nipple

  • I bought one back in the day, and I HATE IT.

The circle in the middle is such a pain in the ass.

  • reminds me of top gun

  • what a great invention

  • I found one of these at a Salvation Army for 3 bucks.

Awesome controller, but the slide pad is a little more stiff than the D-pad on a regular NES controller.

  • i hate his voice

  • thats the turbo controller

  • definitely looking more like a modern controller, compared to the square hand breaking original.

  • hell yeah I still got one of those sitting somewhere in my house

  • That's a lucky kid.... My consoles were made of wood.

  • i use to own this controller back in 88

  • @swl9380 i still own it and still using it now

  • Bought one still sealed in the box.

Want to try it but afraid to open it.

  • Open It Dude :D its awesome... i mean at first its weird but when you get used to it it PWNS

  • Give it some air.

  • FUN HOUSE! That was my show!

  • the d-pad actually worked very well for about 3 hours. shit was so cash.

  • Its actually quite easy to repair those things. I have fixed a few of them.

  • sausage

  • Got mine for 3 dollars 2 days ago. Pretty fun controller, but the "analog", which is actually a sliding piece of plastic on a d-pad doesn't go as well as I expected and the controller is a tad too small for my big hands. Great turbo function though.

  • @123crashdummie I took the slider out of the d-pad.It works even better without it...

  • my definate favorite controller of all time...kinda an 80's version of the 360 controller.

  • That thing was glued to my hand I used it so much.

  • i got this controller from a flea market back in 2001, i got it in my hands right now its fun to feel the d pad swivel

  • Not many know it, but the NES Max had a higher turbo rate than the NES Advantage's highest turbo setting. My mom bought it for me because she thought it was a steering wheel controller. Well, that turned out to not be the case, lol. When playing games like NES Pro Wrestling, it took everyone months to figure out why I could get my move in before them and their "Advantages.". NES Max indeed.

  • @dlancer2k Nice, but have you ever tried Street Fighter II Turbo or Champion Edition with the Tyco Power Plug? I had Champion Edition, set it to 10 star turbo, then cranked my Power Plug to the max and E.Honda was so fast, he didn't move. Yet he could totally take out half of someone's damage just standing around. Chun Li just stood with her leg up in the air and did the same thing. Now that's turbo. Moving so fast you no longer move at all.

  • @GamerGuideGamerPause lol, nice.

  • @dlancer2k How so?

  • @StarBoy62

    How so what?

  • @dlancer2k How did you figure out that the max has a higher turbo rate than the advantage. Just curious.

  • @StarBoy62

with the NES Pro Wrestling game. whoever was using the Max would get their move in first roughly 80% of the time even with the Advantage turbo set all the way up.

  • O_o?

  • This was a very innovative and surprisingly ergonomic controller for it's time and my favorite for the NES; turbo buttons aside. Of course turbo buttons are great too.

  • @Lastury I agree. I remember having a controller like this when I played my NES games, and I liked it better than the original that many know and remember.
