  • I love Squier guitars!!! For me the Bridge/Middle position is the sweet spot!

  • sir, what strings are you choose for that gorgeous squier?

and excuse my grammar :) english isnt my native language

  • @theexelentsone

    I just use DAddario 11 - 49

    Thanks for watching!

  • @Stichfam

    thank you sir!

keep up the good work :D

  • Ahh right okay buddy, well great playing all in all and i will try one of these out myself when i get the chance, this guitar looks great i love the big chucky headstock and the pickups sound great, should sound great through my amp too, many thanks for replying back to me, peace :)

  • Does this puppy stay in tune? im thinking about purchasing one but i need a guitar thats gonna stay om tune and not constantly need retuning everytime i play a lick, is it good at staying in tune?

  • @jakeyyvampiree

    so far, itr's not bad.

The few times I played it with new strings, it may have needed some adjustment but I think it's allright.

It's a fragile nice, easy going guitar with a great sound.

  • Great playing, really enjoyed the video, tell me is everything original? you haven't changed the pickups or anything have you?

  • @jakeyyvampiree

    Many Thanks!

    The guitar is all Original.

I don't want to change anything about it, except the strings every once in a while :)

  • This is a very nice, rich sounding guitar.. and so much lesser expensive than the American-made stuff. Even if a person desired to up-grade the pickups to something noiseless, they'd come out way ahead of the game. I love Squiers.. lots of bang for the buck!

Very nice demo.. great playing :-)

  • @margovallen

    Many Thanks!, Margo ,,,

  • is it no noise(hum)..how come it just sound soo clear?

  • @deanno

Probably sounds best at lower volumes?

it's a nice guitar in general!

I'm sure it sounds good pushed too.

    Just a sweet easy guitar.

  • What is the difference between a fat strat and a standard one? :<?

  • @MegaThrylos7 a fat strat is a strat with a humbucker in the bridge and two single coils, where as a standard strat has 3 single coils

  • @teleman587063 I have a squier floyd rose with locking tremolo what do you think about that ;p?

  • @MegaThrylos7 its unique lol but i don't like floyd rose tremolos, all my tremolo guitars have been hard tailed with a piece of wood lol

  • @teleman587063 Thx for the info mate ^.^

  • Duuude... I honestly believe you could make a broomstick sound good. Jus' sayin'.

  • @tazztt1

    :) Funny :)

  • @Stichfam what amp?

  • Thanks for letting us

    in on "The Secret."

  • what kind of effects do you use?

  • @PAPAEMUSIC

I like Reverb, sometimes a Wah wah and Also like Vintage style Fuzz ,,, Psychotic reaction type, Cheezy

  • @Stichfam sounding really good this what im lookin into right now

  • I bought my Standard series Squier (Indonesian with Agathis body) over every other strat in the shop. That is no BS. It had the best action, the build quality was up to US standards and I love the neck profile. The pickups were not stratty though. I remember reading at the time (8 years ago) that the pickups were hot, for a modern sound. No problem, a set of 57/62s and I have my dream strat. No doubt Squier players will continue to be bagged by owners of more expensive guitars. Nice playing sir.

  • @leonjay1

    Thanks!

  • Great demo, man. I picked one up at a pawnshop in MT for 80 bones, put a less ugly pickguard on it and its winner winner chicken dinner! I also have a Squier Affinity Tele, don't let anybody tell you they don't sound great, 'cause they do!

Keep the fingers loose and keep posting those vids.

  • @mightyluv

    Thanks mightyluv,

  • Don't insult the guitar by changing the name all my squier guitars play better than my top of the line fenders that i own . my bullet is my favorite guitar i play it more than any i own, they just sound better I love it.!

  • You know something mister? you could play a Cheerio box strung with fishing line and make it sound yummy!!! Hell of a job!

  • @RocknLester2011

    Thanks ,, :)

  • Great video. After 15+ years of playing the main things I've learned about guitar gear. a) £100 Squiers are great guitars, although you sometimes need to upgrade tuners for great tuning stability and a wiring upgrade is cheap and makes a great difference. b) A great quality amp will make more difference to your tone that spending five times as much or more on your guitar. c) in a club gig no one can hear the difference your boutique pickups make.

  • @mostmusicisbad so how much you reckon to send on amp

  • Oh, I liked that! :o)

  • @HappySquierGuy

    Thanks! ,,

  • Im holding the same exact one in my hands. Thinking about sanding the squier off and replacing it with a fender decal.

  • Very nice!!! Thanks for the video!!

  • sounds absolutely awesome

  • @deadbunny001

    Thanks!, ,

  • What the a fuck is the difference, between a "normal" strat and a squier !?!

  • @aivopark

Probably cheaper parts and an unfinished neck but I still like the sound better,

  • @aivopark Cheaper wood, electronics, frets, tuners & parts. Pretty much everything. That being said, there are some nice squier guitars out there. The Deluxe, VM & CV lines in particular are very good and can hold their own against some much more expensive guitars.

  • @365Avalon

those are all easy and inexpensive mods.

  • @peskypesky err, if you change everything I said was cheaper......there would be nothing of the original guitar left LOL. Listen I'm not hating on the model, but I do think the higher end models are much better.

  • @VooDooBleed

    I guess it's Good?

I never use the tremelo that much,

I have it down low via extra springs.

I think the tremelo is decent!

    Nice Guitar for the price

  • Don't know if you like teles at all, but the new squier standard tele is amazing too. They feel as good to my fingers as a mexi or highway-1, and they sound better stock, I have a few, and GFS gets a lot of business out of me! I usually like to paint the headstock to match the body, and people come over and play my teles, and they ask me things like "who made this one for you?". Nobody believes me when I tell them its a $225 squier.

  • @AdamRainStopper

I know, It's nice to hear that! :)

  • @Stichfam Yep. Squier actually has a ton of good stuff. Classic vibe series are EASILY better than MIM models that cost twice as much, and the standards are wonderful...but get this, what do you get when you take a Bassoowd body, a satin-finished neck with rosewood board, and whatever hardware and electronics you desire (because the guitar cost 100 bucks)? You call it a customized bullet strat! Avoid the Affinity series like the plague, but bullet strats are an awesome place to put surf-90s!

  • how much was it?

  • @armybucket

I got it alittle over 225

  • Hi! Is it with agathis body?

  • @ninja0724

I'm not sure of the wood?

  • probably the best sounding squier ive ever heard!

  • @hailknopfler2

    Thanks!

    Amazing isn't it ,,

  • i have one too.... but I need to do a setup myself, then only it sounds great. do you need to setup yours?

  • @hothengchun

I just put on new strings, got another spring for the tremelo underneath and turned the trussrod a few minor turns and away we go :)

  • @hothengchun

    Thanks!!

  • do you collect guitars?

  • @24pianoplayer

    Not too much anymore.

I just fix them up to play then decide if it's a keeper or not over time.

  • I seen reviews where they get a strat and a squire, cover the head stock and no one knew which is the expensive one.

  • Any decent guitar can sound good on a good quality amp, just sayin

(I even think the affinity strat series is pretty good to)

  • Hey would this make a decent begginer guitar?

  • @Thelonesniper101

    Absolutley!

  • I found one for 170 bucks and it's bad ass. It has a flamed maple veneer on it with a pealized pickgaurd which I haven't seen before. I got it while on tour just to use for hotel rooms and couldn't be happier. I bought it without even plugging it in just because of the way it looked. It stays in tune very well even using the trem.

  • @NickMass35

I picked up mine on a whim too and love it! :)

    Vibe!

  • Play an open C and D. If they both play in tune I'll eat my hat. I bought two new ones and neither one could pass this simple test. Sent the first one back because of the poor intonation. This second one is just as bad. And yes I've adjusted everything to the specs in the Fender Strat owners manual, except for having to raise a couple strings higher than the recommended range to prevent fretbuzz. They also have thin tone, at least with solid state amps, and the plain strings have poor sustain.

  • can u tell me if standart series stays in tune and where are they made?

  • @Devdarianiirakli They won't even GO in tune in the first place. Mine is made in Indonesia. They look great, but buyer beware. Check them over REAL good. Fender/Squier has been having a lot of quality control issues lately in my experience. I had the neck replaced on my new Mexican Fender Strat a few years ago because of extremely buzzing frets. The store I bought it at couldn't even grind them enough to fix the original neck. I guess they want to coax us into buying their American series.

  • @73849309378 Nightmare bro! It's the"1 in20"rule no matter where Fenders or Squiers are from you must be careful. But when you find a good one that kicks chunks out of a guitar 10x the price it's worth the hunt. My cv 60's strat is superior to my American deluxe and yes I mean it. Parts don't care where they're made it's down to the luthier. My hunch is China is about to do to Japan what Japan did to the US in 78. So keep looking great ones will slip by Fender despite their sly tactics ;)

  • @TheGubernot If you look into Squier history the Japanese(and Korean)guitars were FANTASTIC but got too good so out go the Alder bodies in come the plywood! Imagine building them! You'll do whatever you can to slip great ones through the cracks wouldn't you?Even with the jumbled serial numbers not helping you will find gems. The Jap Guitar story is inspirational worth a movie imo and you'll love Squier even more. Btw great vid, playing and honesty! ;)

  • @Devdarianiirakli Yes, the Standard Strat will stay in tune as well as any American Strat, just be sure to stretch the strings when you put new ones on, go to 10/46 strings, they will play much better. These are made in Indonesia , by Kort Tec a Korean based company, I believe that the best Squiers are coming from Indonesia currently, Kort has a lot of experience with Fender Co....Like Stich says, best kept secret in a Strat!......poppa

  • Ya' sure it's out of phase? =/

  • or that :X

  • Hi. I am an intermediate guitar player. I play everything from blues to Hard Rock and A bit of metal. Is this guitar good for me?

  • @GNR4EVERRRRRRRRR

I think this guitar is pretty versatile like a Fender should be but would be best suited for Blues and clean styles.

Any Guitar with Distortion can be a Metal Guitar though.

  • @Stichfam Thank you. Can you tell me a guitar that will suit me?

  • PEOPLE..ITS THE MUSIC THAT COUNTS...FOR EXAMPLE..YOU HAVE A FENDER STANDARD STRAT A AND A SQUIER ONE...AND THE TONE AND SOUND WOULD BE THE SAME..THAN..WHY TO BOTHER TO BUY A EXPENSIVE UPON A CHEAP GUITAR...YOU SAVEA LOT OF MONEY..AND COMPENSATE THE SOUND WITH A EFFECTZ OR A GOOD AMP...

    A PALY A FENDER START FOR 800EURO =NO MODIFIACATIONS..AND A SQUIER FOR 350 + 100BUCKS FOR A SEYMOUR DUNCAN PICUP..AND THE SQUIER IS MARVELOUS....GUYS...CHOOSE WISELY :D

  • im sorry but... a squire is still a squire to me

  • @BELL12366 Huh? What's wrong with squire?

  • How are the frets? I'm thinking about buying that exact model guitar but most guitars within that price range have horribly installed frets that aren't level and buzz.

  • Mine is the same model, but black instead of red

  • umm... squier... :\ I hate them, sorry. For some reason I thought this was a fender video.

  • Yes Yes Yes !!! I just pick up a Squier Standard last night, with Antique Burst maple neck possibly the best tone so far on all my Squier's bought it of some kid, had only 3 Strings on it after re- stringing, and Cleaning the Pots, I was instantly in Tone Heaven..... Nice Demo!!

  • @TheSquierTech

    Thanks! ,,,

  • I'm thinking of getting one of these, but can i just ask, when you got this guitar, was the intonation and action all set up when you bought it or did you have to mess with it to get it right?

  • Your absolutely right cause I bought one last year and Im stuck on it!

  • @Tracey9926

    Great!

I can hear the tone on yours!

  • finally a strat with 22 frets at a good price

  • Great demo...thank you !

  • as a Squier fanatic, i have to thank you for this great demo!

  • @peskypesky

    Thanks!

  • Squier Standard is even better than Fender mex standard and in the same level as the American standard, in all terms including tunners and bridge, and squier classic vibe is as good as the Fender Custom Shop is(or almost).

    Sorry for my english.

  • Have you ever tested the SX sst guitar?

I think the diference of the sound betwin squier standard and Fender american standardis probably the pots fender has 250 and squier 500 what's bringing to the squier a sound with more trebles than the fender, take the squier and put in the bridge pickup and set the tone in the midle and make a comparission with the fender with bridge pickup selected but with the pot all open.

  • @MrFilipicamo

    Interesting!

    Thanks!

  • right on ....hendrix!!!

  • Holy mommy....I'm feeling some warmth.....

  • @syndgr834

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for the demo. I have a Squier Standard Stratocaster, in Black Metallic/Maple. I've had it for a couple of years but I've never heard it played on anything better that my Rogue CG-30R (30w x 10") solid state amp. I know that it plays very well, but I have always wondered about it's potential in regard to tone. I was already happy with it, but now I'm ecstatic. Someday this secret will get out and Fender will either pull it or raise the price.

  • 1:24 And the wind cries marry

  • Thanks for your posting, I picked up a brand new Squier Standard Strat today at a pawn shop...still had plastic on the guard. is met red like yours, not a scratch. This guitar is the real deal! I love my Squier Bullit after moding it , but the Standard is my new love...many thanks...poppa

  • @MrPoppa2

    Right On! :)

  • Hi Stichfam. I enjoy your guitar reviews very much. Is the Squier Standard Strat as good as the Classic Vibe Strats and do they themselves compare well to an American Standard or Deluxe for both build and sound quality? I'd appreciate your view as you know what your talking about it seems to me. Thanks in advance.

  • @boxer365

    Sure!

I think the Classic Vide is different, lighter, Incredible playablilty, thinner sound though but it's own.

Yesterday in my store another LP blues Classic Vibe came in and It was like butter in my hands,

I'd change the pups though to Fralin or something.

I like The Sound of the Squier above any other strat I played!

It just had that zing, Hendrix percussive souind!

It truly is an amazing guitar for the price, I think ,,,

  • @boxer365

I think the other models are higher end and maybe solid felling but that Squier was my first choice!!!!

  • @Stichfam Thanks for your reply. Much apreciated. So to clarify, your favorite sounding Stratocaster is the Squier Standard and you prefer the sound of this to the Classic Vibes which you also think are good and you think the American Fenders are more solid in build (please clarify)?? which sound good also but your favorite sounding Strat of all is the Squier Standard? Do you think the Squier Classic Vibes are better built than the Squier Standard?

  • @boxer365

    I definately Love the Squier!

I pulled it out again today

    and it is Fantastic!

  • @boxer365 I had a classic vibe 60's and I took it back to the shop and got a squier standard. The quality on both is about the same. The standard I got is made in Indonesia. I prefer the unfinished neck over the gloss neck on the classic vibe. Be careful to examine the guitar closely for defects. I had to change guitars about 3 times before I got one that was 100%. Some of the problems were weird things like a little gouge on the side of the pickguard. The fret edges on one were sharp.

  • @boxer365 The classic vibe is made in china and is an all Alder body. The standard is part aLder and part Agathis. I compared the two and sound difference is minimal. I really like the natural neck on the Standard and it has the 2 point floating tremelo bridge like the higher up Fenders have. The gloss on the classic vibe may be slightly better but you have to look REALLY close to notice. Somehow I feel that the Standard made in Indonesia plays and feels better somehow.

  • squiers and fenders sound so similar, it's getting creepy..sometimes a 200$ squier strat can sound better then a mexican or even the american fender strat...its like a big guitar conspiracy

  • @Eyeseen Right? I have FOUR good Squires for the same price as one American Standard. I'd like to save for a Seventies Strat, but I just can't stop buying These!!!

  • hey man, nice playing

you happen to know if the black & chrome model is a standard?

cos i don't want to get one of those cheap bullet models.

  • How much you pay'd for it Stichfam ?

  • @raptory0

I got it for around $200 without the tax

  • @Stichfam It's really nice. Would that be good to start playing guitar with this model ?

  • @raptory0

    Excellant Model!

Better then some higher end Strats, i think!

  • You also have to remember.. most of the tone produced is from your amp.. or pedals

  • Brilliant!

  • @sarinapaparone

    Wow, Thanks! ;)

  • i am hesitant to say..... i was wrong about some squires o_o

  • Hey Geoff,

Enjoy your videos. So how many guitars do you have now?

  • @thozzman

    I put it at 10,

    Thanks!

  • @thozzman

Excellant Playing Reg: Your Video! :)

  • You're playing great,i'm a begginer in guitars,but someday i want to play like you,keep going!! :D

  • Dug the Hendrix part

  • @Parley454

    Thanks!

    Yes, Squier has it going!

  • nice shirt

  • @STRATOMASTER190
