I'm not really too sure what to make of this. It's hard to place the intention behind it, but I'm not sure it was a particularly tasteful thing to do.

The burqa is controversial for a reason: It's tremendously oppressive; it represents an obviously hostile part of some Islamic culture. To use this in advertising should be done in protest, but it almost seems like it's defending the garment.

Women are often sexually assaulted for not wearing the burqa, and that's a typical defense used by many rapists. Sexual assault is often "validated" by this. To then use the burqa to advertise the, "sexiness," underneath is kind of incredibly insensitive.

To mention being sexy in the same video as mentioning the burqa probably isn't the best move. Whatever they're trying to do, I don't like their methods.

so we had to watch this for my college english class (representing Islam), and being Muslim and a woman I honestly found nothing wrong with this ad. I thought it gave the message that all women no matter where they are from or what they look like are the same.

My english professor saw it as an orientalist clip. She used the words.."even a muslim woman can look sexy" and said that this just showed one more way of differentiating between the two worlds.

I have a friends, whos musilm, and she doesnt have anythomg against it, she thinks its a good advertise.. cuz itsa shows women taht wears burka/scarfs, they can come out to be some really beautoful/sexy people.. even though som poeple are afriad to those kind of poeple who wears burka/scarfas which we SOULDNT be.. they are human too just like everybody else.. :)
