Do people come over here to listen to the music or to talk politics ? and be racist ? Com'on guys lets enjoy some flamenco after all were all humans no matter arabs jews spaniards american christians muslims arnt we all humans ??
I lived in Spain and anyone, whether Spaniard, Arab, Gypsy or Jew, who denies that Spain is a magnificent cauldron of cultures blended together, is just plain stupid and blind. If it weren't for all of these cultures, Spain would never be the country it is today. No culture is solely responsible; not the Arabs, the Jews, the Spanish Christians or the Gypsies. Spain is a symbiotic culture.
DUDE!!!! GOD BLESS THE ANCIENT ARAB INFLUENCES OF SPAIN!!!!.And god bless the spaniards who take pride in their moorish spanish history!!!!!!!! and lol fuck those racist spaniards who deny the moorish existents and influences in spain!!!!.

@smartspick they are like that man even its in their fuckung face they keep denying it i had been in spain 3 times and arabic countries too and even a blind can see they ahce arabic influences but if someone is racist in europe its spaniars
@smartspick WTF ???? We dont deny arabic influence in our culture.We do deny arabic heritage in our genes.Moors were kicked out from Spain, leaving no genetic pool in our blood.
Btw, if anyone is racist thats gotta be the arabs.As far as i know,slavery was legal until the 60's.Thanks to international pressure it was abolished.However, slavery's is still working there.Immigrants are treated worse than animals.They get their passport LEGALLY withhold and they are second calss citizens.
@smartspick What the hell are you talking about? If you have ever been to Spain you would know they look nothing alike. Anybody can tell them apart...even an idiot like should be able to!
@Topithug So? Spain also ruled part Morocco for a period of time and still controls Melilla and Ceuta. France also had control of Morocco. Does that make Moroccan people French? No! So why are you so worried about the past? Not all of Spain was ruled by the Moors, go to northern Spain and see the celtic influences music. It's totally different from the culture of southern spain, and definitely Morocco.
@thekingofmoney2000 your dispute was with the statement that spanish people look like arabs, I don't challenge you on this however this is not the point being made. The point is arab influence on spanish culture, architecture, music etc is evidently clear. Just how french influence on north africa is clear. I don't dispute any of what you just said, simply making the point that you've got the wrong end of the stick.
@Topithug Well, they don't look like arabs either, they look just like most other southern Europeans and in some cases like northern europeans. It doesn't matter either way, it's only one part of Spain's history. It's more complex and diverse than just the muslim influences. I don't think most Spanish people deny the past, but we also know that there is more to our history than just the Moorish period.
@thekingofmoney2000 You must be somewhat blind....There are many southern europeans who look like northern middle eastern people.Oh and keep in mind cheb khaled is probably not even a pure arab but a arab who is mixed with african or a berber mixed with african.Arabs dont look like cheb khaled.
@thekingofmoney2000 Spain's history is mixture of all different people.But i have to admit the arabic one is much more heavily mixed.I mean arabs had spain for almost a thousand years.Also,many spaniards do deny the moors.I have met many who deny the moors and deny they come from a mixed history.
@MiddleEasternBeauti Look, there are elements of Arabic culture in Andalusia, not all of Spain. Also Spanish culture has evolved into it's own unique style, it's not the same as arabic culture. Saying Spanish culture is like Arabic culture is like saying Japanese culture is like Chinese culture, just because there are some similarities, but both are more different than they are alike.
@MiddleEasternBeauti And, most importantly Spain does not want to be part of the Arab world and feels no connection to it, that's most important! It's what the people of the country think that matters.
@thekingofmoney2000 Yes its in andalusia but do you have any idea that the arabs took almost ALL spain.So most of spainish has some element of arabic influence.And lol,if spaniards admit that there country has a mixture of arabic culture and spaniards are mixed with arabs from ancient times DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE PART of the arab world.Spain is in europe,and its culture is a mix of arabic and other european culture.
@MiddleEasternBeauti Duh, I said they are not part of the arab world. Spain is in Europe, and has nothing to do with the Arab world. And Spaniards are NOT mixed with arabs! Look at the ethnic diversity of the country. I dare you to find similarities with Asturian culture for example and arab culture. Andalusia has the most influences, that's about it. You've not spent much or any time traveling around Spain. How could you know?

ShahinOne87 has posted for us the highest for of music. Think of the history. Invasion, occupation of the Arab in Spain was some brutal thing back then. Many, many years have passed. The Arab music has stayed in fragment in Andalusia amongst the Gytanos. Well, today Cheb Khaled and Enrique Morente have started what we used to do before the Franco dictatorship. Flow freely through land, culture and music and look how beautifully we are able to blend. Pain, tender heart and hope are universal.
@WhisperingSeashells Andulusia after the Muslims have been defeated the Spanish king burned any one who wont convert to Christianity <<<this is what you call brutal ... it was a great history and the song celebrated it .... Peace
ShahinOne87 Gurekin musika forma argitaratu handiena. Pentsa historian. Invasion, Espainian Arabiar okupazio basatiari gauza batzuk itzuli zen gero. Askok, urte asko gainditu. Arabiar musika Andaluziako fragment geratu Gytanos artean. Beno, Cheb Khaled eta Enrique Morente gaur hasi dira zer egin Francoren diktaduraren aurretik erabili dugu. Flow libreki lurra, kultura eta musikaren bidez. Look nola ederki gai nahasten dugu. Pain, samurrak bihotza eta itxaropena unibertsalak dira.
Roberto Navarro tells this occupation as a teacher. "The occupation of the Moors in the Iberian peninsula was long in duration and rapid conquest. The Arabs needed less than a decade to dominate the region - which would remain under their control for almost eight centuries. The funny thing is that this occupation has been encouraged by the same people who inhabited the region ...
continued ... "The Visigoths, as they were called, had German origins, but had converted to Christianity and lived involved in internal disputes. Because of this rivalry, a faction of Visigoths decided to seek help from the Arab leader Musa ibn Nusayri, which dominated North Africa. For over 20 years, advances Moor faced little resistance and was only stopped by the Franks, Christian people who lived in the French territory, less than 300 km of what is now Paris."
continued ... "After the fall of the Moors on the peninsula there is a strong cultural heritage - not for nothing, because the Arabs were at the time, the vanguard of the scientific world. The architecture and marine engineering are just two examples of the fertile contribution to future invaders of the world empires established by Spanish and Portuguese navigators. In addition, musical styles as flamenco and fado born influenced by Moorish rhythms and instruments."
Love it sooo much! Thank you for sharing this wonderful and amazing video. I know Cheb Khaled's music very well as also Enrique Morente's. Wow! - Never imagined them both singing together, so beautifully and just the culture similarities when they sing as well. I wish there were more videos and music like this one.
these two cultures have mixed together since the moorish invasion of spain in the year 711...awesome,l have always loved the joining of these two cultures.
You can really see how much Flamenco has from the wonderful Arab Culture, perhaps we are just a sector of the Arab culture,thats how close the realtion is in my eyes.

i love the arab but the spaniard fucking sucks.
they should of used Diego el Cigala instead.
baezalejandro 1 year ago
@baezalejandro
I doubt el Cigala would have felt the same way about "the spaniard"
search for "cigala remembers morente" and click on "I feel lucky" on Google.

Looking back, which conquest was free from brutality? Not many, and they all had slaves of some sort.

@WhisperingSeashells

@WhisperingSeashells
continued ...

@aMELborba
continued ...
