  • I died to this.

  • Just another reason why the snes was better than the genesis.

  • Surreal when a child. Surreal as an adult. Only the brilliant can create something gorgeous using primitive technology.

  • Is there, by chance, an arranged version of this song?

  • When I reached to dracula, I was like "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!!!", memories :)

  • even dracula liked this, death, slogra, gaibon and some other monster disliked cuz their themes werent so epic

  • I think the general idea is that classicvaniacs say scv4 is no.1 while metroidvaniacs say sotn is no.1.

  • Best castlevania made! For the age of the game, (I was 7 when it was released and a fan since the mighty original series and yes Simons quest) the graphics, music and over all gameplay are still to be beaten in this new ''generation''.

I personally would love to see a remake of this in the way they did Dracula x chronicles, that would be sweet! Anybody else agree?

  • @shiromakidx Secret item trick?... Nah I used a gameshark emulator (inside the SNES emulator) to get invicibility.

  • Even when a lot of people say this is the best castlevania I still enjoy Rondo of blood a lot more.

  • music so beautiful, makes me cry thinking about my childhood and how blessed i was

  • VERY EPIC! used to give me nightmares when i used to play this game at 3AM when i was a teenager

  • this game explodes and requires all your senses, cuz you cannot have any dull moment or else youre fucked, specially on this part of the game, modern games require only pressing or smashing a button, fuck COD, we need more games like super castlevania 4 and less repetitive shooters that are useless and unworthy

  • Aaaaaaaand, I cheated to beat Dracula.

  • @Poodleinacan The secret item trick? who didn't cheated atleast once to defeat dracula?

  • @shiromakidx: My first time. Tbh, it was pretty not so obvious this time around where the secret item replenishment was placed.

  • Entrance of the Guy *shiver*

  • Disturbing, haunting and melodious. This is definitely my favorite music to fight Dracula to.

  • The moment this plays toward the end of game, when your hands are shaking and you can barley grip your controller drenched in sweat, when you've survived an onslaught of the demon lords henchmen and Death himself has stood opposing before your battered body, when the adrenaline rush has abandoned you at the final stretch... this song gives you the strength you need, waiting for Simon's theme and the first light of day!

  • This game alone should end all arguments on witch system was better. SNES or SEGA. We all know Sega sucked!!!

  • i agree with all here who say that scv4 ist he best greatest part of all castlevania games......i cant even count how many times i played this game till the end

  • Like if you couldn't believe how fuckin huge Dracula was at the end and thought for sure you couldn't beat him

  • dayum this is good music

  • @Rukodiora and @Veke99, why are you telling him mean things? All he said was that 4 people didn't beat dracula.

  • I have never played Castlevania games, but I can tell one thing. This game is the best one of the series!

  • OMG.. to think.. this music was on the snes..! Whoever created this and every other masterpiece in the whole Castlevania collection is a fucking genius....

  • Beautiful. I remember loving this track as a kid, along with the creepy fog effects that overtook the screen.

  • *pulls a cross out of my pocket and dracula exploads*

    ME GUSTA.

  • When I was a kid hear this.....I'm thinking awwww shit! I'm 30 now. I'm thinking awww shit!

  • @Jdub14000 oh my god I think i'd never listen to music like that

  • @lebris91 LOL. It still put some fear in me to this day.

  • i havent really known about castlevania until my friend had a snes and we were playing megaman x 2 and i saw castlevania 4 and as soon as i played it i was hooked on castlevania even though im still young(im 13)i have a passion for this game sires and i hope it continues forever so newer genorations get to play this master pice that is castlevania 4-west899(AKA me)

  • 4 people didn`t beat dracula

  • @Kytsunev you're a fucking idiot

  • @Kytsunev shut up..

  • how many fucking channels could a SNES handle?

I hear 2 organs (one for the delay)

2 pianos (also one for the delay)

    a fade-in clarinet.. actually 2 of them.

    a tuba

    A string section.

  • @mirrorpiece

The SPC700 supports 8 stereo channels (16 bit, compressed), and the channels can individually pan left/right. For its time it was a marvelous little coprocessor.

Most people don't know that the SPC700 came from Sony - designed by Ken Kutaragi himself. It allowed for some really memorable high quality music on so many SNES games, like the tune on this page...

  • @mirrorpiece The good news is you appear to have superhuman hearing abilities. There isn't really any bad news.

  • @DarthKrattus2 : If they are ever planning on making a "Castlevania" movie, they should make the plot go along with Castlevania IV. Imagine how awesome that would be...grapghic OR special-effect-wise.

  • man this song is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad ass

  • Awsome song of awsome Castlevania game!

  • Make a damn movie. And the ending fighting dracula to this music.

  • ...Whoops, placed my last comment on the wrong video lol

  • Just imagine this song actually being played with trumpeteers, an organ, tuba players, and a drummer.

  • and not to traverse the invisible steps

  • dammit.... i never even hit dracula.... then, I gave the (rented) game back to my nephew, AND NOW I KNOW YOU HAVE TO HIT HIM IN HIS FACE!

  • This is savage! Konami had great music in their games, this track could slot into the prince of persia soundtrack with ease.

  • four people won't admit Dracula is a true vampire because they are fans of twilight

  • @irelandcool1 The ones that appear in Twilight aren't vampires, those are fakepires, a combination of a fag and bright powder LOL.

  • @KenjiMinamoto Not to mention it doesn't have a true werewolf either its a bunch of furries dressed up as wolves

  • There's some magic in the air! It remind me Vangelis's music.

  • Best played during the begining, when the tombstone is struck by lightning, and the mist covers the whole land.

  • WHAT

    A

    WONDERFUL

    NIGHT

    TO

    CAST

    A

    CURSE

  • draculaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and the secret power ;)

  • memories... memories....

  • Is there a way to keep the composer alive forever? Begin research immediately

  • Only TRUE Castlevania fans admit to Super Castlevania IV being the greatest of the series.

  • @BadTapWater Nope. I have played a lot of the Castlevania games, besides the GBA games, and of the series, the original was most difficult, and Symphony of the Night was brilliantly put together (and I played this before SotN).

Lords of Shadow is pretty damn good, but that's if you consider the reboot...

  • @wheredarknessislight you should play Haunted castle, its harder than Castlevania 1

  • @BadTapWater ... Alucard's so badass though... But Super Castlevania IV is pretty good. Probably my second favourite by a VERY close margin.

  • @BadTapWater - I haven't played every game in the series, but of the ones I've played, this one is DEFINITELY my favourite. =)

  • @BadTapWater i havent even played it and i'll admit it lol

  • @BadTapWater Not only that, but Super Castlevania IV was actually the first Castlevania game I have ever played.

  • @BadTapWater i admit it, cause in another games, you cant whip in all directions!!!!!

  • @BadTapWater *ach rondo of ach* blood ach*

  • @BadTapWater indeed

  • @BadTapWater Seeing as I'm new to the series, I'm just curious- what do the non-true fans consider the best of the series?

  • @CirqueDuFreak2000 irrelevant. obtain a SNES and a copy of Super Castlevania IV. good luck.

  • @BadTapWater Started playing it on an emulator, enjoying it so far.

  • @BadTapWater ...which makes those who like other Castlevanias not Castlevania fans? Sure, Super Castlevania is exceptionally good... but it doesn't mean that not liking it makes you not a true fan.

  • @BadTapWater That is unfair to those of us who never got to play it. Does it make me any less of a fan just because I've only beaten Circle of Moon and am halfway through my first run of Symphony of The Night? Sure, I definitely wanna give this one a shot, the music is phenomenal and the game play looks superb. But I'll be damned if I'm not allowed just because I haven't played one game of many. Cut us other folks some slack will ya? I'm just here to enjoy this epic song!

  • @DarkX64 GET THIS GAME by any means necessary!! this is one of the best Castlevania in the series as far as the gameplay and the soundtrack next to Symphony of the Night and yes i just about played all of them. imagine being back in 1991 coming from the first three castlevanias on the nes to this one i was completely blown away by SCV4 and 20 years later I still run through it every now and then You're on the right track as far as playing the classic Castlevanias play the first 3 on NES if u can

  • @ARIQULE77 I already beat the first one. :) But I think I can afford to skip Simon's Quest and go right to Dracula's Curse.

After that, I'll tackle Super 4 and Bloodlines.

  • @BadTapWater I agree with u sir castlevania fan since 1987

  • @BadTapWater Well then consider me a true fan :)

  • @BadTapWater Pssh SotN FTW

  • I don't feel nostalgia nor reminiscence of this game, because I fucking own it, and the SNES itself.

God, I love keeping my old games and systems instead of buying newer consoles with soulless games.

  • @Hitmonchan107 .................agreed,i used to listen to the music as i got dressed for church, and still do!!

  • @Hitmonchan107 Hey, I still have my Xbox (the first one) box...and all of my console boxes (Wii and PS3)...And we still have the PSone...

I had a friend who has a NES and a SNES.

  • Why hasn't anyone made a remix of this?

  • @MyScorpion42 CUZ IZ TOO HARD. D:>

  • Epic music from a Legendary battle

  • Nostalgia....Nostalgia...All I can think about when I hear this. The world is starting to crumble, your fears are about to become reality forever. It's about for you to venture once more to finally settle the score between you and an abomination that your own ancestors created. Vengence is near.

  • this song is great! if they make a second castlevania after the game, lords of shadow, they should use this song when your about to fight Dracula, but a different and more modern version of this song =)

  • I love this music

  • To the idiot who thought Master Chief would have a shot against Dracula: No.

  • Games in the past was just made out of pure and true love. this isnt just a game, its more then art, its happiness. <3

  • there needs to be a castlevania movie

  • @metalsonic641 No... Hollywood fucks up video games. No Castlevania movie, thanks.

  • @DarthKrattus who said hollywood

  • One of the strangest themes for a boss/final boss but also one of the most beautiful.

  • Three people could never beat Dracula becuase they never knew the existence of the invisible walkway before fighting him.

  • Sometimes I want to yank the 360 out of my kids room, hook up my SNES, and let them realize you don't need a Lego, Harry Potter, or any other random license to enjoy something as a kid. This entry was a classic example of how a truly good game could make (or keep up) it's own legacy.

  • @maximadrvr217 I am only 24 but I remember watching my father play Link to the past on the SNES to this day the super nintendo is and will be my favorite console

  • i would think of all time this....... this one game s the best of all of them......you wanna know why its simple........good......vs. evil.

  • Up until fuckin' twilgiht ruined the whole vampire thing i considered vampires among one of the dreaded horror monsters of our time. I find this soundtrack truely awsome and would love to see it updated but not used in some fucktard way like twilight. A cool new modern remix would be pretty sweet.

    Personally i love zombies.

  • @DamageRenamo well there is movie called priest coming up in may and there is confirmation for Underworld 4 for next year also there is a remake of fright night this year. So just because one book series goes different in the vampire direction does not mean it taints it all. I mean come on now, I read the series I thought it was ok just needed some work on some things but to keep trolling about it is a waste of time.

I am not bashing you or anything but I am just making a point.

  • I'm happy to know that even though it felt like I was playing by myself, I was really sharing an epic experience with kids all over the world. This game is a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.

  • Sick game!

Still in my top 10 best games ever list.

Just realised.... probably was the killer soundtracks that really helped make this game so awesome

  • @TH3PIONEER when it came out the big thing with me was all the 8 directions simon could whip..also the moonwalking..jk

  • When I look at the supermoon tonight, this tune will be in my head. 3/19/2011.

  • I love Symphony of the Night but it didn't have the aura this game does.Everything from music to backgrounds just felt right and clicked in such a way it make this game a pure epic classic, the tune just makes my point to when you head into to and fight dracula

  • LA MEJOR BANDA SONORA JAMAS CREADA EN UN VIDEO JUEGO!

  • This song used to give me chills as I was heading towards Dracula.

  • And so... it begins.....Just be sure to tell your Next of kin before you begin....

  • I wanna just dress up like Dracula and have this blaring nonstop one Halloween and then ask children if I may fill their buckets with CHAOS

  • @capgamer I hope you don't get arrested if you actually try to pull that off.

  • @DarkX64 Wow, I lol'd.

  • @capgamer I'm not quite sure what a bucket of CHAOS is but that is the coolest thing I've ever heard. DO IT!

  • Very Dark tune.

  • I Wanna Be The Guy!

  • This song is so purple.

  • Belmont family > Master chief, UNSC, and every other thing thats a good guy :D

  • WHAT IS A KONAMI CODE!?!? A MISERABLE PILE OF CHEATERS!!

  • Nintendo is king. Always has been. Always will be

  • @allotheabove123 Dang straight.

  • @allotheabove123 inb4supercastlevanivgetsportedtoxblaandpsn

  • Worthy of Christopher Lee himself!

  • This theme doesn't mess around!

You feel the intensity of Dracula's evil permeating every inch of your soul when this plays in the background.

  • This theme is not like all the previous themes, where it was all about "adventure" and "fun", this theme is serious and evil.

  • This is the purplest Dracula battle ever. 1:12 is epic pwnage.

  • @OgnarPliskin That's actually rather curious, the huge saturation of Purple in this fight and the one in Dracula X never occured to me. Makes me wonder why they didn't use more black, I'm sure the SNES could have handled it. Nevertheless, this was an excellent battle and this is an epic track to be sure.

  • fuck its amazing its soooo beautifuuuuuulllll...i dont know if i like this one or dracula x one...

  • This reminds me of some terminator type shit, I think this might be the best track on the game. smdh this might be the best game next to final fantasy 7, man I miss the old days, they just dont make em how they used to...

  • Great track

  • Miss this old times... when games were made not only for make money :)...

SNES have GREAT games and Soundtracks ( Killer Instinct(Glacius and Sabrewulf Themes), Top Gear, Dracula, Fatal Fury...)

  • ahh, the intro with the tombstone on the back and the fog densely closing, such good memories :)

  • Vampire hunter11k

This tune adds to the excitement of fighting the final boss in the game; but its strange never pictured dracula to be some goofy old bald head.

  • @mydjron a remiscance from nosferatu

  • This song make me very serious i play the heck out this song in the dark all alone

  • One of the greatest game series' to date. Definitely the top when it comes to to the music composed for this game as well. A true beauty.

  • Just for this game my grandma bought a special SNES remote where you could ajust settings for each button (this is for the original snes) well I remember using the codes to just skip to the Death fight *because I died after killing him with my last life and didn't countinue. (also this is a different game, but has anyone ever put in the game wierd and their fighter jet became invincible?

  • This pretty much still gives me goosebumps.....the final battle. Time to kill this s.o.b.....2am, wtf is a curfew anyway when you're not even a teenager and you've got a guy that would make King Koopa spit water and Gannon just another slice of Bacon? Time to crack the ceiling for the secret staircase, climb up and get some last minute essentials, because you're about to kick the ass of the baddest villain Konami's ever had to offer. LET'S GO!

  • I still can't believe this is 16 bit. Words can't describe how epic this song is.

  • What's better Metal gear solid or Castlevania there both koonami soo witch one

  • @XEHANORT1000 Castlevania son. Everyone who came to this page probably grew up on this game or NES ones.

  • @flskim906 no. (desparate voice) I'm too young!!! (cries bloody tears)

  • @XEHANORT1000 Castlevania no douth there.

  • @Seiferjesus well castlevania is more of a master piece than metal gear you know koonami always with master pieces but i like both so yeah i like everithing about koonamu except yugioh i hate it

  • @XEHANORT1000 You can't really compare the two at all since they are completely different game franchises with completely different ways of story telling and gameplay. We all know that Metal Gear Solid has a ridiculously mind blowing story, but one can really appreciate Castlevania since it is a game based on gothic Literature and Architecture.

  • @Kingofevil565 its better than zelda in my opinion and the timeline is more organized

  • @XEHANORT1000 Zelda's timeline isn't meant to be "organized..." There IS an official timeline announced by Miyamoto himself, but only he, the president of Nintendo, and the current directors of any given Zelda game have access to it. Skyward Sword is actually centered on the crafting of the Master Sword. I think it's about the Oocca, too, and how Hylians were created. (Twilight Princess references) So it's safe to say that this takes place before OoT and A Link to the Past.

  • @genesisSOC actually iteverybody thaught it hadd a timeline until he fucked it up and had more crazy ideas but forget it lets have fun with the games

  • @XEHANORT1000 Hmm? I don't think he's screwed anything up. The only Zelda game I didn't like at -all- was Spirit Tracks. Even Phantom Hourglass was pretty decent enough.

As for the timeline, well, not knowing what it is is kind've the fun for me I suppose. It's an adventure all in it self~

  • @genesisSOC

I agree. Spirit Tracks was easily the worst game in the series

  • @Evilguy951 It seriously was. It was horrible. Wasted $30 right there.

  • @XEHANORT1000

It doesn't matter. I like AVGN's opinion on Zelda. Each game is supposed to be their own experience, regardless if they connect or not.

  • @XEHANORT1000 The timeline in MGS might be unorganized, but when everything falls into place at the end of each game, everything should make sense and it will be a total MINDFUCK

  • Fred Fuchs

  • @jcmmhancock no its Fred Fucks

  • This is the best song in the game.

  • Fred Phucks

  • Bram Stroker , wished he would call the hero name Belmont

  • This is SUPER EPIC!

  • i just simply love this song

  • And this is worthy of Christopher Lee himself!

  • This reminds me of whipping the crap out of Dracula's Phantom of the Opera-wannabe ass right in the face.

  • @serge809 More like the Phantom of the Opera is the wannabe. Dracula was the first and best.

  • Dracula In the Process Of Appearing Simon Throws 1 Boomerang After Another w/ The III Block

  • This is exactly one of the things missing today. I don't know about you guys but when I heard this song come on, I felt like I was getting ready for the final battle with Dracula. It got me so pumped that I stood around to listen to the Epicness of it. Proves you DO NOT need graphics to make an amazing game.

  • @streetskater03 C/S!

  • @streetskater03 the game still had decent graphics.

  • Gosh this tune......I remeber after you kill the Grim Reaper, it turns all silent. I was wondering, is that it? Then I proceeded up to the little passage way, and as soon as I approached it, the candles start lighting by themselves, and this tune starts. I was amazed at how well done this game was so early into the systems release.

  • lords of shadow to me looks like assassin's creed and castlevania mixed together.. AWESOME!!!!!

  • @psycholink44 really? Assassin's creed? It looks NOTHING like assassin's creed, if you want to say it looks like anything one might say god of war or dantes inferno, but after playing it it feels like its own game which it is.

  • This song is so old and still excellent! I cant wait for Lords of Shadow!

  • chilling to the bone every single time I listen to it!

they can't make games like these gems anymore :(

  • This theme is in the new Castlevania game.

  • @VastedCouth u mean Lords of Shadows? :O

  • @Biankito yup

  • Dracula in this game, wasnt extremely hard, and wasnt as easy as in Castlevania 2. THIS IS THE REALL DRACULA. not the extremly difficult boogie monster in castlevania 1.

  • Master Chief wouldn't last two seconds against Dracula.

  • @genesisSOC Or any belmont family member for that matter.

  • @genesisSOC What is Master Chief had garlic and holy water?

  • @RiyoYukai Dracula would laugh at him and call him a miserable pile of secrets as he ripped him to shreds.
