He is just a normal old man who has done tremendous things in the world of entertainment that have paved the way for many Black comedians and as a Black Man myself some Black comedians are not comedians who could be shown on HBO as prime comedians but all in all there are some white folks on HBO who sucks horribly. Profanity is something that plagues Black comedians sometimes. Chris Rock can use profanity and be funny but some people cannot. All comedians just have to be smarter with material.

Any black man that calls Bill Cosby an "Uncle Tom" needs to rethink who they're talking about. A man who for many years was a comedian/role model, not just for black folks, but whites as well. He was, and still continues to be, a class act, a man who's humor pervades race, creed, color, or political affiliation. I love Billy Cosby because he sees America as a culture of interracial people living together, while our own tendencies to segregate continue to divide us. If only they would listen..

The 'uncle tom' thing will go away when people stop giving weight to it. A person that calls another an "uncle tom" is either 65+ or an underachieving toothless asshat. Jeezuz. how? cosby has done a hell of alot to bring positive images of black folks to black america and possibly (because i don't know you) more for black people than you. All Cosby asking is for people to take responsibility for their actions and do better. peace.

I agree totally with you JohnP. I get tired of people being quick to label Cosby an Uncle Tom when they truly don't even know the definition of what an Uncle Tom is.

Just because a Black person speaks his opinion on another Black person does not make him an Uncle Tom! People lethargically throw that term around because they're not educated enough to understand and/or appreciate someone's opinion.

The funny thing is if the same comment that Cosby made came from someone that were White, Black people would be in love with him/her and say that they were in touch with the Black community. Some Black people can be so finicky at times. That's one of our main problems as a race.

I recommend that U read the American Directory of Certified Uncle Toms, they had a chapter about Cosby which solidified his Tom status.
