I think they should have made a Dark Cloud stand-alone title where you could make your own villages and dungeons from scratch and/or pre-made material. They should make the next one for the PS3 and have this in there but with the added feature of multiplayer, so it will be a bit like Little Big Planet where as you can create your towns and dungeons, share them with friends, and play with others in these towns and dungeons.

It's so odd, to look at this trailer, and to look back at the final product. There were no carpets or jumping (outside of the dungeon) and this kid looks younger. Yet, oddly enough, I think that the final product is just as amazing without those functions. :) Like this is you agree with me.

Oh wow they sure changed the game around a lot. But I see where they kept certain aspects. Lol but the original toan looks a lot more forgettable, I like the final design better. I do think it was smart to change from designing a single island to designing each town you go to, simply because it went so well with the games overall flow. But it would have been cool to design that island xD
they clearly cut corners changing the entire game when they couldn't work with the ps2s specifications just to get an early release, so many bugs and glitches

When you think about it the jumping element would piss you off sometimes, I can't imagine trying to get around Yellow Drops falling off the walkway and having to repeatedly jump back up...

GAAH, now I really want to play Dark Cloud again. I never did get to beat the Dark Genie before I had to take it back to the video store (I couldn't beat him with Osmond, since he only takes one hit at a time and I was using a Star Breaker -o-, and Ruby was too weak). >_<

I like everything about the actual release, but I wish they kept jumping, falling into water, and better graphics. And it would also be cool if you can also make your own towns from scratch.
Am I the only one who thinks the beta looks better than the release? I like the jumping, but not the typical anime hair. I also like the georama system better than the one that's in the actual game.

I like how this 'Toan' bends down when he talks to the people. You know in the original Dark Cloud, they never did make it clear how Toan could basically just zoom up into the air for the Georama parts. I mean I know in Dark Cloud 2 they explained it with this giant machine thing, but not in DC1. Still, beta or not, this game looks really good.

The release version of Toan made him look like a fashionable kid who couldn't do anything except fight and save the world, yet he can't make a little jump UP but he can jump down. Technically it isn't even jumping down you just walk off and he's still in standing position.
I remember seeing a screenshot of the flying carpet in a game magazine a long time ago...It'd have been awesome if they'd kept it this way. The map looks much more impressive and Toan's(?) body has more movement/motion when he runs, whereas in the released version he looks stiff.
I imagine DC would have gotten better ratings had they stuck with this...because it looks very impressive.

I like everything about the actual release, but I wish they kept jumping, falling into water, and better graphics. And it would also be cool if you can also make your own towns from scratch.

Am I the only one who thinks the beta looks better than the release? I like the jumping, but not the typical anime hair. I also like the georama system better than the one that's in the actual game.
Also, I have an odd obsession with the geostones. Orbish :D

I like how this 'Toan' bends down when he talks to the people. You know in the original Dark Cloud, they never did make it clear how Toan could basically just zoom up into the air for the Georama parts. I mean I know in Dark Cloud 2 they explained it with this giant machine thing, but not in DC1. Still, beta or not, this game looks really good.

The release version of Toan made him look like a fashionable kid who couldn't do anything except fight and save the world, yet he can't make a little jump UP but he can jump down. Technically it isn't even jumping down you just walk off and he's still in standing position.

I remember seeing a screenshot of the flying carpet in a game magazine a long time ago...It'd have been awesome if they'd kept it this way. The map looks much more impressive and Toan's(?) body has more movement/motion when he runs, whereas in the released version he looks stiff.
I imagine DC would have gotten better ratings had they stuck with this...because it looks very impressive.

wtf ! i have it too but its so lame the 2 is ok i would say the best but im not sure if is damn that dude who made that help needs some cool ideas i have some right now 1rst we need to have hunting events like fishing but in that event to hunt wolfs and monsters like a bounty hunter 2nd mining gold ect. 3rd to wear the good old chainmail armor or plate ...4rth to have pets horse somethin...5 to have wars with other people from example the town is under attack u go there kick ass out..6 to ...

Wow, this all looks so amazing, it looks better then the final version in ever aspect, especially the Georama mode. Dark Cloud didn't have volcanoes Dl . I also like how the world map looks in this. I also like the character design in this, and someone said that was Toan's father? Dark Cloud was still a great game. I really hope to see a 3rd installment like this in the near future. Please Level 5?

The Black Knight Pendragon is Toan's father, use Xiao's "Steve" weapon when fighting him.

i love the original a lot my #1 game on the ps2 but the graphics in the beta is far much better than the real game it's like RE 4 the beta it's have a way much better graphics than the final version of today.
