It's not fake. The camera is set up to point to the right of the archer, and the straw mat is behind the camera. Imagine the guy shooting an arrow to the right of you, that's where the camera is placed.

I was able to freeze the picture at 1:01 just as the arrow was crossing the wick. The arrow is pointing upwards at about a 20-degree angle, but if you notice at the beginning, the candle height is just below his chin and the ground is level. Sorry, but there is no way that the close-up they show is the actual shot he made.

45lb recurve bow @28", 32" draw length, 33" arrows, 100 grain tips, finger release, arrows spined about .362 and 10 grains per inch with vanes.

I'm guessing my arrows are too stiff or not stiff enough but which one is it?

@several people on here, it's a flat bow (probably an American Flat Bow), and the slowmo showing split screen is a different shot to the one where he is talking (open the video in two separate windows, hit freeze on both as he looses, and frame advance, the bow recoil is fairly different - bow flips straight to right @0:50, bow hand is way steadier at 1:02). He may well have hit it in both though.

As for his voice, I ain't got sound right now, so can't tell :)

if you watch 1:00-1:03 over and over about twent times and pause in between you can freeze it as the arrow hits the candle. i froze it and the candle is still lit after the head hit it and just befor the tail. It looks to me like the fethers put it out. Maybe is just a lag thing with the camera though, idk. I have a screenshot if anyone wants it.

Id like to see you shoot 2 or 3 arrows at once, preferably with a recurve.
