Im 17....i dont remember the stanley cup loss to the Red Wings....I wasn't alive for the 2 cups....but being a Flyers fan means a lot to me. The history that i know is a history to be proud of. its a history that i will pass down to my kids and their kids and so on. I will never forget Parent, The Hammer, The Hound, the Watson Bros., my hero Hexy, Pelle Lindbergh, and so many more. Being a Flyers fan makes me wanna play the way they did; with all the fire in my heart and for the love of hockey.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but how is #26 not retired for Brian Propp? He's in the top 3 franchise-wise in games (790, 3rd), goals (369, 2nd), and assists (480, 2nd). The guys ahead of him are Bill Barber and/or Bobby Clarke---and their numbers are retired.
Granted his skills declined pretty quickly after the age of 30, but during his time in Philly, he was their sniper.

Definitely not a Flyers fan, but growing up in that city with Gene Hart as the voice of the team, going to the same school as16's son made me at least appreciate the ability and passion, even if I couldn't get on with the style of play. They did have a resurgence with Pat Quinn, and then a great resurgence with one of my favourite coaches, Mike Keenan, in the mid 1980's. That was a good club, good Toronto boys like Rick Tocchet and the late Peter Zezel. Others included Ron Sutter, Dave Poulin, Mark Howe, Brian Propp.
