It's mind blowing that the album version of this song is on youtube (/watch?v=B95xNr9IsMA) but this can't be on youtube. Makes no sense to me. Whoever uploaded that track is doing more harm to the album (as he uploaded every song from the album for people to listen to it for free on youtube) than someone is doing a cover of it.

I've tried to play this too (although I'm poop) and I know how hard it is. I would go as far as calling that time 18/16 or 18/8 with all those extra off-beats in there. To do that mid section on a four shell kit is a really superb. Great effort.

I always thought it was a paradiddle type pattern in that tom section. You have studied Matt's playing, you move a little like him. Try using your left during that odd time bridge section, just count 1/4 notes, but because of the odd time, first bar, foot will be on the down beat, next bar on the 1/8 note up beat. Loads of fun!

The tempo stays the same throughout the song. The main section is in 9/4 time. The drumming's pretty simple really - Cameron plays two 4/4 phrases and tacks a one beat fill on the end to make it nine. Good song though, kudos for playing it!
