С бортом российского ИЛа они работали активно, но все равно не смогли посаить его при видимости 1000м перед польским 101. Командир Ила служил раньше на этом аэродроме и хорошо знал его. Решение принял экипаж.

It was great plane - was so different as planes today - great "old" design, 101 was arter big, main repair - had new engines, modern aviation systems etc. This plane has been crashed by people on board (not pilots).
The TU-154 is a reliable, aerodynamically sound, robust aircraft---unless a pilot flies it into a forest or does not follow strict protocol under IFR conditions. There is no good excuse for the loss of life in this tragic accident.
Or unless air trafic controller start saying everything is ok, when it's not. Both sides are responsibility for that disaster. Btw - "Tu", not "TU"...
