  • I just passed the 2,000 hour mark on my E250D E-Tecs, and so far I have had one sensor failure (85$) which did not shut the engine down. They have performed very well in a hard working, saltwater, environment.

  • Since that day all the tags worlwide they use evinrude 250 and its time for the tankers to find out this magnificent outboards and allso use them. What a crap...

  • all i will say is, there is a reson the candian)along with others) uses e-tecs. simply the best!

  • i still cant believe that johnson is out, but i will never trust a japanese motor and i have one

  • Did we mention they are ethanol proof!!!! And winterized at the push of a button no service for 300hours duh winning

  • With the right prop u can pull anything!!!!!

  • The motors are great but that tow pole is better

  • I love Evinrude, but Mercs are good outboards too.

  • look /watch?v=Jwm83q4mjQA

  • is the bar over the motors put there to protect the motors if the boat its pulling crashs into the back of the boat

  • i can do this with my 15 hp yamaha four stroke!

  • Couldn't help to notice that the boat is pulling the bigger with etecs. Etec are for lake and ponds and pulling you want some fun buy the best yamahas

  • The previous engines were propped out to factory specs. At WOT the engines turned 6000 rpm's. The Evinrudes are also propped with factory spec, turning even lower at 5800 rpm's. It would be different if the Evinrude props were a lower pitch, however that is not the case here. In theory, the higher rpm engines should develop more torque, but the 4-strokes clearly don't develop the same torque as 2-strokes.

  • If Yamaha ever puts out a similar 2 stroke technology we will never here the end of it from the "YAMAHITES". But since its Evinrude they just can't give them credit.....

  • I just got a 31 contender. it came with 225 yamaha's. I sold them and put on 250 Evinrudes with I-command. I lost over 200 pounds off my transom, and gained 4 knots. Fuel consumption on a plane is roughly the same, but I have more power than before, and a much faster hole shot. I burn 2 gallons every 5 hours when working with divers in the water.

  • Awesome video, I just traded in my Yamaha 90Hp 2 stroke for a 2009 90Hp E-Tec. I cant wait to get this thing mounted it came with free set of I-Command gauges too for the 100yr anniversary I will be posting it up on you tube my first run. look under Koboss in a few weeks to see how it does!!!

  • @Kobboss had any issues with it yet?

  • lets see how many hours you get on the evinrude's.

  • man they got some power!

  • ETEC owners certainly have pulling power

    coz they pull them selves

  • lmao. so true.

  • yamaha is the best

evinrud can not to rival yamaha Especially 2stroke

all vid of evinrude in youtube it just commercial

  • This was not a commercial. We had Yamaha engines before the Evinrudes, and we wanted to show the difference. The yamaha engines could not KEEP the boat on a plane with only one engine running. The evinrudes can GET the boat on a plane towing a 22' boat. For search and rescue, that kind of power is important. If you don't know what you are talking about, maybe you should keep your thoughts to yourself.

  • The propellors make the difference dude ,talking about knowledge.

  • E-tec is the best

  • what do you mean? sea was pretty rough when he went on that trip... even so, there are no conditions that can save you THAT much on a 20 km longer trip with 50hp more and doing full speed with a 7,5 meter RIB that weighs over 1,5 tonnes

  • I have a 2006 23 mako with a 225 etec. My fuel burn at 32 mph is 8.1 gph. And i can troll for 6 hrs on 1 gallon of gas. My top speed is 50mph. And i have owned yamaha and mercury. I love my Etec!!

  • These 250hp engines are torque monsters. Wait until you see the new 2008 300hp E-Tecs. BRUTAL. Just like the new 250Hp HO's 18' boat, 250HO, 2 skiiers. 85mph. Used 70 litres of fuel in 112km Ski Race in Australia. Awesome power, Awesome fuel economy.

  • 70 LITERS IS AWESOME FUEL ECONOMY? dude, you are waaaaaay off... a local rich kid I know got himself a suzuki df300 and did a 77Nm(142Km) long trip(in Croatia... Rijeka-->Pag) at full speed and used up less then 50 liters of fuel... now THAT is awesome fuel economy

  • Wow those have power. Towing at 23k? WOW! Only thing I have to say is: Do you guys have any idea how INCREDIBLY bad for boats that is? Wow major stress on the tow line points. VERY, VERY impressive. If you had told me that in a bar I would have said you were crazy! AMAZING POWER. (PS - I want one!)
