The U.S. products were said to either have been stolen or were close to their expiration dates and as a result either thrown out or given away. The extent of this distribution appeared to not have even a negligible effect on the country's economy. Of course if there is demand then supply will follow. I find the attack on America's exporting of unhealthy life style very ironic considering what Afghanistan's #1 export is.

14842, your comment is very ignorant in that you seem to not understand where these american products are coming from. they are all paid for by the U.S. government and given to American soldiers. U.S. soldiers then sell their extra items they don't want to the locals. this costs America more money, the only profit being made is by individual soldiers, not US government or corporations.

"Local food" is safer and more expensive than cheaper manufactured American food containing chemicals, hormones, preservatives, bio-engineered whatnot, etc.
