I note in both races the European horse ran many lengths further than Tiznow by being significantly wider the whole race. Considering both were beaten by narrow (ish) margins I think victory was down to jockey trackcraft more than horse ability.

I'm not churlish, Tiznow was obviously a grat racehorse and a magnificent specimen.

Tiznow was a champion yes, but anyone who thinks that giants causeway was anything other than a fantastic racehorse needs their head reading.

also i dont agree that tiznow 'destroyed' the causeway or sakhee. he had to battle very hard to win both of these races..

both the euros did very very well running on dirt for the first time.. there'll never be another giants causeway, or tiznow.. they were both outstanding runners.. so lets give'm both credit ..

LOL Tiznow. He was a great horse, but if he would of faced both these horses on the grass he would of been beaten by giants causeway and sakhee would of completly destroyed him. Sakhee was only 60% the horse on the dirt, yet he still only got beaten a nose by tiznow

Giants Causeway had come off a long tough season beating everything in europe(on grass) having only a few days to adapt to the dirt it was an amazin run.The kickback would have cost him a couple of lengths,had he stayed in training he would have won the next year he was the Iron Horse,The REAL DEAL.

It was Giants Causeways' first race on a dirt surface, he has an excuse. not only that, but if the race were 2 strides longer Tiznow woulda been destroyed. And Giants Causeway is a kickass sire already while Tiznow is...hes okay. but...Giants Causeway is just better in every way, shape, and form

And Giants causeway has had a lot of success as a sire in the US and internationally whereas we only hear of Tiznow's offspring making progress in the US. so KID, giants causeway is obviously the better sire and next champion sire.
