  • Total shame that this man is gone.

  • He's not drunk, he had Parkinson's.

  • @MrSpideradam Parkinson's disease, man...

  • guys there is more than one michael jackson in the world and its just that he is not the famous one

  • This man did a Fantastic job Educating people about the amazing world of Beer.

RIP .....I am still an avid pupil, and my Education is ongoing even after 54 years.

  • @omario8822 Get lost moron.

  • @theawesome6842 Don't be a WUM, and if you're not a WUM then why would you think the paedophile Michael Jackson would be interested in beer?

  • Someone who could think for himself.

  • aff..que lixo...

  • Too soon old boy, too soon. Your corpus of work however, will live on, and what fine work it was.

  • Just by coincedence I watched this video today, while sitting behind my PC. It was 3 years ago today that we lost the greatest beer writer the world has ever known.

  • Wonderful video! Thanks, Michael deserves the attention. I'll post a link to an episode of his famous Beer Hunter series here.

  • There is a company producing a docu on Michael beerhuntermovie are you's involved in it?

  • Immensely important man. His death was a devastating loss to those who appreciate what they drink. Interesting, though, how little he seems to be remembered for his work with scotch. In any case, I hope to see publication of his last unpublished writings sometime soon.

  • R.I.P. both MJs. You both were quite simply AWESOME.

  • Hey if you guys are into good beer I review beer on my Channel. /Shameless self plug

  • oh i read before i watched, sorry mj, i thought they were talking about you but still i meant what i said about parkinsons, and maybe mj just had gum, need to keep my bigmouth shut before i speak

  • oh my gosh, my baby has parkinsons, my daddy is dying from that, i noticed on his last video that he had the mouth trembling, im starting to think i have it as well,i have been chocking and have uncontrollable muscle spasms all over my body, michael baby, im so sorry hunny, i have lots of info and first hand knowledge because of my daddy if you need any i would be happy to help you. with love tonya

  • this video is awesome, obviously not to the ignorant...

  • Give some respect for a great author.

Mr Jackson was a great man and we all miss him. He passed away three weeks after this interview.

Rest in Peace MJ we love you!

  • If you watched the video you would understand that THIS Michael Jackson is not drunk but was living with Parkinson's disease while YOUR Michael Jackson was in fact a drug addict. I have respect and appreciation for his musical talents but he was disturbed and had problems.

  • @SCVeganDOTcom Do not judge mcihael joesph jackson when you havent met him ok he was in a lot of pain from people like you he was miss treaed by police they damaged his back for life and he was in pain all the time from it and from his burns on hsi head he was a much nicer person then this man seems to be he did much more for the nedded he was beautiful

  • @antmeup I am not judging Thriller-MJ , i am stating facts in response to another commenter that said some very disrespectful things about my favorite beer author. Frankly, i would rather we stay on topic of this great intellectual and keep the pop star MJ-related comments to their own videos.

  • VERY bright and appreciative man, his memory means a LOT to the hundreds of thousands of people following his footsteps 'discovering' beer.

Alcohol does damage the old central nervous system... worth taking a break some weeks!

Read his BEERS OF BELGIUM if you get a chance, amazing book.

  • I would assume his Parkinson's disease was genetic rather than from consumption of alcohol.

He was a hell of a nice guy, I met him once in Houston at a beer tasting.

  • The REAL Micheal Jackson!! R.I.P

  • Poor Michael. He looked really bad in this video.

    RIP.

  • R.I.P.

  • it's supposed to be Michael Jackson 'the beer hunter" thats why its in parenthesis...there are millions of people named michael, like my father!

  • were is michael at , i don't see himany were

  • This was 23 days before his death...

  • what's that!

  • i didnt know he had parkinsons disease

    wtf!

  • Parkinson's desease????????

  • Nice interview with a great beer scholar! What is the music used? My guess is Miles Davis...

  • Shame on who?

    Why should this be removed?

This video is about a great man - talented, successful, ground-breaking, whose passing was mourned by thousands and who is greatly missed - he happened to share a name with a talented, successful, ground-breaking performer . . .

The comedy of the coincidence was not lost on beer-writer MJ - his website had words to the effect - "My name is MJ, I do not wear one glove, but I am on a world tour...in pursuit of exceptional beer."

    R.I.P.

  • I'm hoping the press will leave you alone now.

  • We'll miss you Michael :'(

  • This is THE Michael Jackson.

  • Whenever i have to look something up beer wise, the first thing i do is look it up in my copy of his book about his greatest beers. he was the best

  • Great interview, he will be missed. There will never be another "Beer Hunter" but I do hope someone will step up to continue the promotion of craft beer.

  • The old guy with white beard is michael jackson.

  • mhh michael is one of the most common names in the us and jackson as well is a very common second name... so no,,, sorry but there is more than one michael jackson

  • Well done Dan. It is fantastic that you managed to get this footage so close to his passing and when he obviously didn't look well. I hope that more comes of this.

  • I'm home-brewing beer now! My interest was sparked by Michael Jackson the Beer Hunter who also influenced my dad to home-brew. That's 2 generations of us brewing due to him. Cheers!

ps: this is Michael Jackson the Beer Hunter, as the title says. If you are looking for MJ the pop singer, you won't find him here.

  • This was THE Michael Jackson - writer and beer enthusiast. Not the musical performer. Cheers.

  • one of the coolest guys ever, if you ever get to see his old tv show amazing. Dude lived a charmed life.

  • My gosh, he died not three weeks after this interview.

  • 23 days is more than 3 weeks hehe :)

  • Can anyone hear what he says at 2:25-26? It's the word (I assume it's one word - it sounds like "sophardian"!) he says in between saying "with some rather" and "linguistic jokes".

  • beats me, sorry.

  • (I tried to reply to this - not sure why it didn't appear anyway . . .)

I'm pretty sure he says "Sephardim" - I think this refers either to a particular ethnic Jewish background or to a particular style of written Jewish prayer (MJ came from a Lithuanian Jewish background).

  • I love Youtube! - someone asks what the chap in the clip says at one point - I post up what I think is the answer & someone gives me a "poor comment"!

    :~)

    Shamon / Shalom / Salam / Peace!

  • wow there sure are alot of fussy children on youtube huh? this is micheal jackson the famous beer writer. he has done as much for beer as micheal jackson has done for music. please stop being moronic and quit posting despicable things about a good man.

  • maglavagna

reply: Pardon me but fuck you.

This is the original Michael Jackson, not the popular singer Michael Jackson.

  • Well if you insist, I can say that this is not Michael Joseph Jackson. But this person in this youtube video is the original Michael Jackson born in 1942.

  • If I were you, I would read the details better next time. Because Michael Joseph Jackson is the singer but this is the original Michael Jackson as I said before.

  • Normally "original" means "THE FIRST"

Now if we check the date of birth for

    Michael Jackson (the beer hunter)

it is 27th of March in 1942

But for the pop-singer Michael Joseph Jackson

it is 29th of August in 1950

Conclusion: The beer hunter Michael Jackson was born earlier, so he is the original one.

I don't want to waste another half an hour explaining this to you. Get it?

  • just go watching the news

  • @Isotov You can't say it that way. The only MJ is Michael Joseph Jackson. And he's born 1958 not 1950. Check the facts before you say anything!

  • @Isotov You're sooooooo wrong.

  • @Isotov HAHAHAHAHA. OMG. YOU'RE DISCUSTING ME.

  • beer the other white meat

  • Will you idiots stop rubbishing the life of a deceased person.

This Michael Jackson was a good man and enough people respect his lifes work to remember him.

If you click on this video expecting the other guy, don't post crap, show some respect and go away.

  • A lot of people didn't want to talk about it if they knew about it.

  • ok wrong Mj wooooops!

  • i'll remember you just a great men who teach me the difference between beer and drinkink...

    Thanks very much!

    Prosit!

  • The man was brilliant; he offered so much education in the World of Beer. I had the opportunity to meet and talk with Michael, and let me tell you it was an honor. I will always remember that, and remember the man who taught me so much about my beverage of choice! Beer! Michael, Here's to You...Thanks So Much! -Brewindude

  • This man was responsible for encouraging to me try out lots of different types of beer and for that I will always be in debt to him.

  • He was a great man, and a brilliant writer.

    Peace my friend,

    ehlolz

  • That's not Michael Jackson "The King of Pop" ffs. It's Michael Jackson who specializes in beer.

    Wtf?

  • Cheers Michael! Thanks for all you've done!

  • This jacksons story got me crying! His death long live the king of..... Beer (presuming we are talking about his next life)

  • as much as we'd like to see that happen, we can't because this brilliant man has already passed.

  • rip. i just found this out today. gonna have to get drunk now.

  • What is this...Is there somebody out there with a true Kings name.

  • me too i thought it was him. I said omg michale jackson has a parkison's diseas???

  • Please do not sully a true heroes name with references to this creepy paedophile you ignorant americans.

  • michael jackson has let himself go,,, damn, no thriller topper in the near future then.

  • hahahah your funny

  • A very interesting video. Didn't realise he'd died till our recent trip - on top of John White, that's two we've lost in short space of time. Raise a glass to both.

  • goodbye Michael and thank you

  • eh?

Michael: Rust In Vrede.

  • Het is zeker spijtig. Moge hij rusten in vrede.

  • vila i frid.

  • oh THAT michael jackson

  • Ah, what a shame he never got to write that book. What a great title, indeed -- "I Am Not Drunk." Genius, actually.

  • a great and important person for the beer and whisky world...

    R.I.P.

  • I just heard last night Michael had passed on. I found a boxed set of The Beer Hunter VHS' a few weeks ago, and since I hadn't watched it for 8 or 9 years, I enjoyed my visit. Michael was always very welcoming & personable when we met over the years, and I'll cherish sipping with him & Bert Grant, a couple of great beer curmudgeons. Cheers, Michael.

  • There's a nationwide (U.S.) toast to Michael Jackson at 9pm EST on Sunday, September 30. Then a hat will be passed for the National Parkinson Foundation. Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti, MI, is participating. Check your local brewpub and raise a glass to the man who helped bring us out of the dark ages of beer.

    Nostrovia!

  • Uhhh... Sorry if I sound like a n00b, but....what's this?

  • Michael Jackson was the world most influential beer writer and this interview was done a few weeks before he passed away. Many of us self proclaimed Beer Geeks see him as our...voice... our... muse.

  • Uhhh... :S "THE" Michael Jackson is a singer. That's what I was searching for. I was never aware that there was another famous beermaker named Michael Jackson! xD

  • Hahaha... Looks like every Michael Jackson is the worlds most influential something! He's lucky to be called MJ it made him more famous! lol

  • RIP Michael. You knew how to live!

  • I wanted to extend my memories to Michael Jaskson for his wisdom and dedication for making the best of beer

and making it more than what it is, a part of life.

  • We have truly lost a great campaigner for the best in beer! he will truly be missed!

  • Thanks Michael and letting people know that 16 oz are not pints and 20 oz are real pints.

  • It's interesting to watch on two levels. One as his last interview and the other as a person with Parkinson's. He doesn't move as much as Michael J. Fox does. My grandfather had it.

  • RIP Michael Jackson, thanks for sharing your experiences with beer and spirits with the world. We are forever thankful.

  • Prost!
