"Gravy ain't a fuckin' science." Haha! Just watched some Chef Ramsay the other day, and now i'm thinkin' it might be fun to watch Hilah and Chef Ramsay in the kitchen together. Two interesting personalities. :)
Wow, Hilah! Beautiful singing voice! Would love to join you guys on a wake-n-bake-n-makin-bacon kinda mornin'.. :D (No bacon for me, tho', i'm vegetarian.)
If food netrwork doesn't take you then you should at least get a late night talk show. You are so animated and pleasant to watch and liten too. Your huband is very lucky. Could you do a cooking show just wearing an apron?
Do you know that in England we just don't know about your biscuits and gravy..... our biscuits are what you call cookies and our gravy is never milky, always dark and meaty.....
I would like to try your biscuits and gravy though so i will have a go and let you know what i think.... i may even make a video about it
So, I watched your chorizo and eggs taco video. And then I watched the biscuits video. And just today, I watched this video........... and then I made biscuits with eggs and chorizo gravy. And no lie, it's FUCKING amazing.
@bigsqueeze76 unique is the right word, I alway's thought awesome which she is to. she is a joy to watch, she has that something that draw's you into watching her.
you have to try gravy on salmon patties! We were broke and my Grandpa made gravy (pretty much for a filler) and put it on our patties....awesome! Now we wont eat em without it, and we use crushed saltines in the salmon then fry....and of course use leftover grease for the gravy! Got to try it
your hubby wrote a very sweet song - and I loved hearing you sing it :) My son LOVES good biscuits & gravy. I would make the gravy from the little pouches at the store - not anymore thanks to you!! Yeah, Food Network would be a lot more entertaining with you as an addition. :)
This brought back memories of when I travelled as a kid with my mom. Whenever we stayed at a motel and ate their continental breakfast, I always spotted this and salivated over the smell. My Asian ass mistook it for some sort of morning soup/porridge and enjoyed it by the bowlful. I craved it at times and became sad not knowing its name. Now I am embarrassed to say that I ate gravy in a bowl. Thanks to you I now can make bowlfuls of this deliciousness! :)
Great pointers! I tend to get lazy and whip up gravies on the fly, just throwing in some flour or cornstarch and water to thicken, but not really letting it cook. It works, but it ain't the real thing. You make me stop and rethink, and I realize that it's been a while since I've just slowed down and made REAL sausage gravy. I'm past due...
"A little salt never hurt anyone... oh, wait, it totally did." LOL!! u kill me! but, hiliah, dear... it looks like the sausage wasn't cooked all the way. does it cook more in the gravy? or am i mistaken and it was just the camera, or something?
Just watched again, thank you for your efforts to stay visually pleasing! loved the singing and just had to listen to it again and noticed a lot of funny stuff through out. You are like the extreme of my edit outs in a funny way! Looks like I am not the only one appreciating your boldness! Glad to see you getting so many views and comments! Keep up the great video's my friend, looking forward to the next! wOOt and weee dogie! ye haaaaaaaa!
Yum ! The gravy looks really good and the biscuits could be used to seriously fuck up anyone that makes cracks about your biscuits . . . . Oh wait . . . . .
I'm glad I just ate, before clicking this video. Or I'd be in the kitchen makin' gravy.
And yea, I'm gonna have to be more careful when shopping. I've had a couple of sausages that didn't make much grease. And I'm lost when that happens, because dumping in corn(monsanto) oil messes with my head. lol
Kinda like you, I asked my mom how to make it when I was 12-13. And was making it alot back then. And well, getting back into it again these days. If I don't have some gravy for 3 weeks I B Jones'n.
Good video, I used to use the packets and toss some sausage in to add flavor... bachelor days... Doh, I never thought of using bacon fat and I just cleared and saved a bunch! I was listening to your song trying to figure out what commercial it came from and... OMG I almost fell out of my chair laughing listening to you sing your husbands song, nice voice BTW! keep up the fun video's my friend!
@hilahcooking I tend to whistle a lot... I caught myself whistling the tune as I went to get a second cup of coffee! you are twisted my friend, love your humor!
This is the way my best friend makes biscuits and gravy, except he does it on a way larger scale. Like 2 pounds of sausage larger. Plus sausage links. His biscuits are about 6 inches across and when he splits them he butters the inside and then grills the insides. Amazing. So very bad for you though. Another awesome video. You're by far the best cooking show around.
Hey Hilah! Good lookin gravy. I keep a canister of Wondra flour in my cupboard for when my gravy doesn't come out thick enough. That is granulated flour you can add to warm sauces and it won't clump. But don't put it in boiling liquid or it will clump. Just a little insurance for when we add a little too much milk or broth to gravies. Thanks for sharing! Noreen
@svinehunden Gravy is not all we eat for breakfast. Sometimes there's bacon and fried eggs and waffles and ham and pancakes and syrup and jelly and cornbread and giant bowls of cream and whole sticks of butter and pitchers of molasses and sometimes when you're lucky, someone brings over an entire deer. Now THAT'S breakfast!!!
