The majority of Marine Corps officers actually come from commissioning sources other than the USNA and NROTC programs. A quick google search or friendly call to your local OSO(Officer Selection Officer) will shore up any questions that you may have.

if I wasn't such a fatass I would have served in the Bundeswehr when I lived in Germany and then I would have signed up join the U.S armed forces in 2005...one of these days.
Army helicopter pilots are normally Warrant Officers. In the USMC, all pilots are Commissioned Officers through the various commissioning sources. They also attend The Basic School aboard Camp Barrett in Quantico, Virginia before beginning any flight training.

@oJKBo im doin the same thing with the delayed entry program. from what i know once doing infantry youre not stuck there (and you're not guarenteed the 11 part just 03). I believe you have a certain time where you can change MOS' (1 year?) but after your first four years you can definitely change. that's what im doin. as of the commission you have to go to college beforehand so i guess you'd have to go reserves if you wanted that. @AmericanGMS i just dropped from the Army DEP yesterday and i cant "Legally" speak with a marine recruiter until my paper work goes through. But when i was in the army dep, they were all lazy and never had me do anything, which is a contributing factor on why i wanted to switch to the marines and be challenged...
@loldudeno I'm in the Army and I do Sat Com but I work with the 193rd Air Force Special Operations Wing in PA which we employ, maintain and support EC-130J commando Solo aircraft platforms equipped with airborne electronic broadcasting systems which conduct psychological operations but it's not as cool as it sounds sometimes I get really bored!
