"Gloria" was Anthony's drug counsellor during his rehabilitation. When he finally was rehabilitated, he bought "Gloria" a house on Venice Beach, in california. The house was on a cliff on the beach. Unfortunately, she passed away from Cancer not long after, and Kiedis was very upset. Venice Queen refers to her. She is Kiedis's saviour. All the lyrics are his most deepest emotions, "We all want to tell her, tell her that we love her" and so on

Im really feeling the guitar in this one, and how it melts with drums... incredible. First fast notes and 16th-notes on drums than relaxed strumming accompanied with open hi-hat 8th notes. Beautiful, as a drummer this song is really inspiring.

Aye it's about a woman called Gloria that Anthony became accquinted with in the mid-90's. She admired R.H.C.P. for their attitude towards music and constantly kept in touch with Anthony helping him to kick drugs. When she was diagnosed with lung cancer in the 00's he wrote this song as an ode to her, organised a massive concert to fundraise for her operation but alas, the doctors caught the cancer too late. Not wanting to die in a hospital bed, Kiedis bought her a house on venice beach.
