  • In our production the director moved this part of the song to the moment Lee comes back with the proposal.

He wanted to fill in the long gap between the songs.

  • I only saw this part LIVE on stage at Fords Theater in Washington DC a few years ago. i did not know that they had a print (or a take) in the film. Interesting post and a good one. Thanks

  • "Full-bosomed, Benji!" *dies laughing*

  • lol John fell in the water.... I've neve seen this before! This is so funny! I just KNEW that Lee wasnt gone...

  • I can't believe I've never seen this before. This is hysterical.

  • haha if they had kept it in the actual movie i think it would have been to overbearing... haha i love his song though

  • BullMooseFilms, where can I get the Theatrical and Director's Cut? I can only seem to find the director's cut, which is about 20 minutes shorter, and it doesn't include this scene. :(

  • The director's cut is 20 minutes LONGER than the theatrical cut. The third version of the film is the 1991 Pioneer Laserdisc version, also reissued in 1996 by Columbia on Laserdisc. These versions are unavailable except through a used laserdisc. Or watching the stuff I have put up, which is all the missing footage. The difference between these LD versions and the director's cut is about 5 minutes.

  • No, this was cut from the Theatrical and Director's Cut. It is taken from the 1991 Pioneer Laserdisc release which restored more footage than the director wished to restore at the time of the DVD release.

  • @BullMooseFilms I have the director's cut and this isnt in it.

  • @dht23 Yes, because the director cut it...

  • @BullMooseFilms Oh, I thought you said that it was on the directors cut. lol nevermind.

  • was this in the movie?

  • Lee is now a Phillie!

  • I dont remember this in the dvd! Whered u find this clip?!

  • It's from the 1991 Laserdisc release.

  • I got to play this part twice in local dinner theaters, One of my favorite shows and would do it again but maybe next time as the congressional custodian Andrew McNair

  • THERE A LEE! HERE A LEE! EVERYWHERE A LEE A LEE! JOHN WANTS TO KILL ME! EVEN THOUGH I'M A LEE A LEE!

That's how the song should go! lol!

  • Richard Henry Lee is my favorite person in the whole world. x)

    lol @ "Benji"

  • i think john adams really want to beat him up in that scene

  • Poor John, fell into the fountain!

  • Those men...all they ever think about is bosoms! lol I loved watching Lee chase them around the fountain!

  • Adams is thinking "JUST when we get rid of the nut..."

  • ahaha!!! "Full bosomed Benji!!!"

    xDDD

  • Oh, how I wish this had been included on the DVD. It remains my favorite bit of the entire movie, and I'll never own it. Alas.

  • omg, I can't believed Adams jumped into the fountain...

  • This was actually removed from the Director's Cut DVD, but it was on the extended Laserdisc version.

If you check my page here at YouTube there are several more deleted bits from the Laserdisc Posted.

  • Wow! I've never seen this...is this from the new directors cut, or is it an outtake? I have the original version.

  • My fave char.

  • I like it. I wish it was in the version I have.
