no you need to have some way of getting the files over to your ps2, therefore you must have codebreaker/action replay, or a chipped ps2.

i tried this, but i put the blank disk in the right drive for alchohol,but it says waiting for blank disk 2 be inserted. it dings, the disk is there, but it will not stop waiting! any help for a n00bish boy?

sounds like a software problem to me, alcohol shouldn't ask for a second disk when you are buring the exploit, follow the entire tutorial please my other videos for more info.

hey so so im at the first step i put in my ps1 game, final fantasy 7 :greatest hits edition, but it wont even read my game. my computer sees it but the independence compiler wont see it. when i press the get button it gives me "please insert a disc or check to see if its in the right drive" window yet the game is set in my only driver and i put the setting to the driver and it still doesn't see the game. what am i doing wrong?

sounds like your drive is dying or the disc is too scratched up to be read

I followed the tutorial and used SMagic to load it up which I indicated complete but I can't boot up anything. When I boot the PS1 disc I used as a title it cuts to ULaunch but I've no options. the mem card only contains 13 files including boot.elf (only 1 elf?) but no cdloader or anything to load from. when I start the boot it flashes once then back to ulaunch. Where am I going wrong? Cheers

when it cuts to ulaunch you have the option to go to file browser,or settings by pressing select, if you want to add more elf files you can do it via usb device, or just do a full reinstall of the exploit with the other elf files. if you get to ulaunch elf you will have options you have to set them yourself by pressing select, when the initial menu comes up

Thx for replying. Yeah I realised I could add files to usb and activate them but I've tried psxloader, psxlauncher, cogswap but I can't find an elf that will allow me to boot up backup ps1 games as most only work with V9 upwards and mines a V7/8. I thought yours was also an older model... any suggestions as to a disc changer that'll allow backup swapout with my ps2 version?

version 7 doesnt like ps1 backups i had the same issue even if you get breaker pro (ps1 backbooter for ps1 and ps2) the version 7 can't boot up breaker pro and even if can't boot the backup, so like me you're outta luck man,sorry to solve this problem i just bought a 20 buck used ps1 from a local gaming store but if you want you can pickup one at estarland(dot)com the should have them

you need a disk such as swap magic, or a cheat disk that allows you to transfer game saves from pc to your ps2's memorycard such as codebreaker, gameshark 2 broadband enabled, or action replay max. pm me with more info and i can help you out.

what is a service pack? im not very tech-savvy. i only use norton antivirus, and I tried opening it like 10 times. same message every time. do you think it could be the fact that im on a shared computer and I dont usethe admin account? that one is my mothers and requires a password. so i can't make sure.

what are you using to burn the image, if ur using windows vistas burning wizard then lol, that program sucks windows made it to infuriate its customers. umm go grab a copy of alcohol 120 and use its image burning feature and burn the image in raw dao format at the drives lowest speed

you must use a ps1 game disc as a boot disk and have the old chubby ps2. you must also have a method to boot the cd on ps2 you compiled with my pack, or you can place it on the memory card with gameshark codebreaker or using swapmagic.

yeah, i say go to a local game store or hit the net for a cheap 2 buck ps1 game you will never play. what version of 2 is that gameshark? if you are going to use that method your gameshark must be able to transfer data from a jump drive (external device) to your ps2 memory card. i have another video recommending swap magic but i say a bit about using the gameshark method, im not sure it will help you tho.

i made a file and everything, put it on a pendrive, then put it on my memory card using gameshark... whenever i put my ps1 game in

the cogswap doesnt activate... the ps1 game just plays normally

hmmm. you probly didnt add the ps1 game id to the titlman sucessfully. try compiling the exploit again. Also is the pen/flash drive you're using compatible with the version of gameshark you are using. and what version of gameshark do you have. I need more info man. umm also cogswap's not gonna activate unless you had it set as boot.elf most likely if you've used the kit i provided it came with launchelf v3.55, and cogswap as one of its subsidaries. please give me mor info on ur gameshark and drv

I added everything right as you did in the video. the usb is a DANE-ELEC 256 mb, FAT format. i have the Gameshark2 broadband enabled and on the disk it says gamecodes... the game im using is called Crash Bash

It should be in the exploit file i have up for download. I think i included it. If not PM me. just follow this video and all will be added to your memory card easily. I will do my next video on actually putting it on your memory card. As for now to put it on your memory card you need a gameshark v1 or swapmagic, unless someone else has the exploit installed on a memcard and sends it to you or lets you borrow it to copy the exploit files to your mem card.

do whatever, you can play backup games with cogswap and listen to mp3's either from a disc or an external hdd or internal hdd. umm you can get mem cards saves of the internet and put them on your mem card so if ur playin a fighting game and want all the characters you can have them (with a click of a mouse) < metaphorically speaking.
