Thank you for speaking the Truth, I think alot of arminaians just find the idea of a God being Sovereign in absolutely everything is just too much for them. Its like they want some truth but don't want all of it. at the end of day arminaians follow a doctrine that is of the flesh its there pride that they still hang onto.
@pl8961 It is not only pride but spiritual pride at that, and that is the worst kind of pride that anyone can be perditiously plagued with. It was that type of pride that caused the Pharisees and Sadducees to want the preeminence among the people and when they saw the miracles that Christ did, which of course they were not able to perform, jealousy in-fumed their senses and they were glad to participate in the crucifixion as a result of such. Jealousy truly is cruel as the grave.
@moseseseseses yes all very true, spiritual pride and self righteousness is a lethal mix. as-well the bible requires us to earnestly contend for the faith and also make our calling and election sure. Arminaians would rather say oh i accept Christ because they are so unsettled by the though that the Lord decided to show grace to some and leave the rest. Also this is when you see the big distinction between a "christian religion" and a relationship with the Lord,, May God bless you Brother
@pl8961 It is truly a blow to the pride of the self righteous who believe that if anyone is worth being taken into heaven it is them, when they find out that it is not to him that willeth, nor to him that runneth , but of God that sheweth mercy. When they see that their righteousness is as filthy rags and does not make them worthy to receive saving grace, it troubles them to finally see that they are not in control of their own destiny as they thought they were.
@pl8961 Oh yes, the pride of man will always be the ingredient that blinds him to his real self worth, which is hell because of the sinner that he is no matter how deceived he is when thinking he is righteous. As the psalmist truly tells us: Man at his best state is altogether vanity. Which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Sovereign electing grace from first to last to keep down all boasting. The natural man hates to hear it.
