Hey there I really like the modifications you have done to this bike. I was wondering what type of SLA battery you got on this bike I noticed there is a 6v 4.5 ah measures 2x2.5x4 The ones you have look like they are much bigger.. If you can send me an ebay link of the proper sized battery and any other info that would be highly appreciate
@chaseracer17 The batteries i used were 4 "Power-Sonic PS-12180, 18AH". They are really heavy, (55lbs) and i wouldn't recommend them based on that. My rear rack bent under their weight on a bump. I think for my future SLA bike builds, i'm going to use either 9AH or 12AH batteries, with a lower power motor (probably 500W). I can only go about 12 miles with this pack before it cuts out.
For this 1000W bike i already ordered lithium batteries but they are still in transit so i dont have them yet.
@rocbola Why do you say you would use a 500w instead? Does it give you more miles? Also if someone is wanting to make a e bike for longer distances (like 25 mile one way) With hills what would you recommend.. I'm wanting to get a bike with a front disc brake and then have a hub in the back. I have read to get only steel frames. Though someone told me a Aluminum frame would be just fine. Anyways if we can contact just to talk more about this that would be great
@chaseracer17 I tried to answer all the questions but i ran out of space! I have a website with a forum where i can answer all your questions regarding building E-Bikes without running out of characters.
Did you use Zeus 12v 12ah or the Zeus 12v 9ah on this?
