well i don't think he's that bad. i saw him in a jazz club here in germany a few days ago and it really was fun. maybe not a legend as his father but certainly not just a name-user or what youre gonna call him.
and if you dont like him, his band really kicks ass. i could get a clear impression of that, we had a table virtually on stage. the guys stood at our table playing their solos, that was quite a cool thing 8-)

Check out the album, "John Lee Hooker,Live at Soledad Prison." I've also seen it called "Blues at Soledad" and "Soledad on My Mind." It's a concert done in 1969, and Jr. does the first two tunes: "Superlover" - which is incredible, and the old Albert King tune "Crosscut Saw." Then he leads the crowd in bringing on "my old man" for a truly great set. "Serves Me Right to Suffer," "Lucille," "Boom Boom Boom"...great stuff.

The guitar player is awsome, seen them a few times. Keep an eye on him he is only 20 and just incredible
