He was asked and he gave an answer. What more do you expect from him? He's not running for president anymore, so why not ease up on the far left sniping.
Chucker, I like that you have the automatic assumption that I'm on the 'far left' because I disagree with McCain and say something slightly insulting of him.
I disagree, Sen. Corker has every reason to place the blame at the feet of the UAW, as he has been trying to do, so that Republican Senators aren't blamed for the breakdown of the negotiations.
Also, Sen. Corker and other southern republicans are all about union busting. Bill Kristol of all people is the voice of reason, questioning whether or not this is the right time to pick that battle while the stakes are so high.
mostly a confusion among R's not knowing who they want to be now.

Congress is in charge of appropriating money. I don't care what George Bush or George Will says. What Congress says goes.
Unless you want to change the Constitution and give the executive branch unchecked power on spending tax dollars.

It's not surprising that McCain called for Blagojevich's resignation. He's an opportunist.
It doesn't require him to vote for something - just to say something.
He could speak out against bailout out companies all he wants, but when he's in the Senate chambers, he'll vote for it.
