  • 30,5 fps on HTC Hero

  • 52.8 fps on lg optimus hub ;)

  • super amoled and sgs are shits

  • my galalxy sl had 45.9 fps

  • Very nice video! I just ran neocore on my Sony Ericsson Xperia Active and I'm very surprised because i got 66.6 FPS... just wow,,,

  • @Epicmovement96 yes u had.. resolution on your phone is 320 x 480 pixels and sgs is 480 x 800 pixels.

  • @methoxetamine Yes... try set your phone to 320 x 480 in the neocore app and try see the FPS on your phone again... you will be surprised... But not in the positive way

  • All you idiots saying that the galaxy s has a ""LOW"" FPS listen up

The fps is intentionally reduced to 55 , and for a good reason.

The framerate of above 50 is redundant since it the excess not noticeable by the human eye , hence anything above is useless and tends to put a strain on the battery.

To bypass this a framelimit is put upon

Yes there are mods that remove this , but whats the point ?

Having more frames that you can't see or having a better battery life ??

    Thumbs up "FOR EDUCATION"

  • My Motorola Defy had 39.3 FPS

  • my sony ericsson mini st15i 66.4 fps :) and quadrant result 1560 :)

  • ha my lg optimus s topples nexus 1 and htc desire by 36.9 fps

  • Ha Ha Ha.....My LG optimus ONE scored 55.9fps

  • My Galaxy 5 i5500 59 FPS roflol

  • LG GT540 with CM7 and processor at 825MHz (stable, good battery) gets

Neocore: 65.7 fps probably best gaming phone at this point :)

  • @veljkoblv your gt540 has a 320x480 screen, and galaxy s has a 800x480 screen. Gpu works is a more slow on the large resolution

  • @GruzDification I agree but 480x320 is great resolution for 3" display, with 800x480 would be hardly noticeable difference on small display so gaming perfomance are great and thats why i posted my comment.

BTW On my acer liquid metal i get 68 fps (Metalounay rom on 1.4Ghz stable :D a2sd on)

  • My cheap Galaxy 5 makes 45 fps.

  • good video!!!! OMG a 3rd hand!!!! android does it all!!!

  • hey,i got a staggering 58.0 on my LG P500 aka Optimus One which is greater than LG optimus 2x which has 57.9 ,mine is 1246 on quadrant,it is having gingerbread 2.3.2 and overclocked to 786 MHz........

  • 57.9 on my A99 :)

  • @FamezMV u mean huawei x6?

  • 37.5 on my lg optimus no contract phone, love it

  • THIRD HAND??? FREAKY!!!

  • VISIT

    TOPCODES●CO●CC #FTW

  • omg, lg gt540 and p500 with 825mhz OC cpu have 55fps too :D

  • Got an Android device.. PLayed around with it with tests roms and mods.. in the end... Nothing beats the iOS...

  • 41.9 fps on my Droid 2. Its decent enough.

  • 47,6 on my LG GT540 :D

  • Comment removed

  • lg optimus x2 beats awl (: but galaxy s is really really good!

  • My Galaxy teos gets 12 fps \o/

  • lolzors my desire z gets 57fps....pwned samsung!! stupid plastic piece of shit

  • 55.7 fps!!!

  • Can you do this with the Desire HD, then we'll see...

  • @Ian9899 Galaxy S still beat Desire HD in Neocore. Read my comments below. Neocore is old anyways. You don't benchmark a OpenGL ES 2.0 GPU with outdated OpenGL ES 1.1 App. Just like you don't benchmark your DirectX11 cards with DirectX 8 or 9. They are old programs.

  • @Ian9899 My recommendation is Nenamark. It's using the lastest OpenGL ES 2.0. It's much more advanced graphics than Neocore.

  • my codfish got 35.4 fps | Qualcomm MSM 7227 600 MHz processor Froyo

  • These Galaxy S are capped at 56fps of the screen refresh rate. Flash it with an uncapped ROM and it goes 70FPS+ easily.

  • 12.3fps on my Samsung GT-i5800L

  • Dang.. The gpu in the galaxy s is nice. My droid x got 49fps.

  • my X10 mini does 45fps

  • @witmah6494 Hi,

1, It is not Android, that uses Cortex A8 processors, it is the Galaxy S using it

2, Samsung and Intrinsity created this processor "Hummingbird" in 2009

3, Intrinsity was bought by Apple

4, Apple claims A4 processor is theirs, but it is the same Samsung Hummingbird with a few Apple tweaks (about 128 kb more cache to it)

5, You can find all details about specifications and also PROCESSOR SPECIFICATIONS on pdadb.net

    Good day to you :-)

  • Hello to everyone! I've just got 28,2 FPS as a result of Neocore test for my HTC Desire. I think, it's because I killed all others processes before the test. У меня получилось 28,2 fps для Desire (быть может из-за того, что получше "позаботился" о всех ненужных процессах перед тестом)

    :)

  • x10 mini gets a better score than the nexus one and desire... LOL

  • Comment removed

  • my one keeps on looping without showing the fps? how do i change that?

  • This game is limiting the Galaxy S. Nenemark is more advanced with OpenGL 2.0.

  • Comment removed

  • thumbs up if u were looking at the galaxy s screen most the time

  • Ok, should have switched my brain on first... An LG has of corse a much smaller resolution so it need lesser CPU Power to render the scene. 8)

  • @oxking0815 it still scores higher than the htc legend which has the same screen resolution and a cpu of600Mhz. LG has optimized something for the GT540

  • And if i should belive an other Benchmark here on Youtube a LG GT540 has 40 FPS!

How can that be? It has only 600mhz and coasts a third! o0

May Froyo the Brake in here, compared to Donut?

  • Oh Shit!!11 Three Hands?!

  • shooot the alien with 3 arms!

  • The Nexus One only gets about 25 FPS? But thats' what the T-Mobile G1 gets.....

  • hey just a question does the samsung galaxy s syncs ur contacs with google>?? thanks

  • @carlitosh101 yes

  • @carlitosh101 yes

  • Qualcomm should have at least put something fishy in to bog down Galaxy S users lol

  • Why do you run vids in portrait mode? Surely it will look better in landscape which large screen phones are more at home with?

  • @utuber111963 It's not a video but a rendering. Even then, the aspect ratio if it was a video wouldn't fit in portrait mode.

  • @silverstreak328

Understood now. It is still very impressive. Thanks for reply.

  • someone help! my vibrant doesn't stop the test. It keeps looping it and never shows me the FPS.

  • rofl @ petterfurb XXDD

  • i wish Samsung Galaxy S gad led or xenon camera light.

  • @m3hm3tirl Yeah, that would have made it a perfect phone. But at least the camera performs pretty well in low light conditions.

  • @guitarman2677 im looking something to smile size like 4" to 7" touch screen, full web and Flash support, wifi, long battery life , good screen under 200$ i could not find yet. im not sure that those chinese 7" android 1.5 version tablets support full web and flash. any idea about them ?

  • @m3hm3tirl I don't think you can get much with under $200. To be honest I'm not sure about the Chinese products. Some of them are ok I guess, but others are too slow and laggy. I suggest you go on ebay and search for "android tablet". You'll have plenty of tablets to choose from. I hope that helped. Oh and one more thing, There will a number of products to be released by the holidays, so you might wanna wait til christmas. Good luck :)

  • @guitarman2677 yeah you are right there will be new products out by that time. i will wait until after cristmas sales :)

  • i believe the n1 is limited... correct?

  • omg...three hands.......

  • zipppiz, the test measures frames per second, since the GalaxyS displays more frames per second it finished the vid sooner.

  • Just another pont, The Samsung Galaxy S has V-sync on which caps the maximum fps to 55.7 fps. This means that the Galaxy S totally blows away everything as it is being restricted, if the v-sync could be disabled you would see that the fps would skyrocket!!

  • Samsung Galaxy S is KING of all smartphones in GPU tests at this time. Sorry apple fanboys

  • @wangzingee Yes as far as power but, not as far as quality and ease of use.

  • @mariokid2115 I dont know what you mean by that. The quality is top notch and as of ease of use, A trained monkey can use the galaxy s.

  • @wangzingee Yes but as with all android phones viruses can be a problem as with managing media its drag and drop and not to mention the chaos in applications. Developers do not knows where to post their apps and the experience is so inconsistent. The iPhone 4 also feels really sturdy granted its made of glass. Plus you cannot beat the retina display. We could go at this all day GO ANDROID AND IOS.

  • @mariokid2115 if u dont want a virus dont download asian apps or go on bad wensites

  • @Bobak1995 You could say the same thing about a PC but, we all know that there is still a chance of getting a virus.

  • @wangzingee no not really my frnd :)

my sony ericsson mini st15i 66.4 fps :) and quadrant result 1560 :)

  • @papa5885 My SGS has 2945 in Quadrant without OC but in Neocore only 55,7fps. That Neocore benchmark is a shit. is your SE faster in new regular 3D games than my SGS? I don't think so!

  • @Nitroimidazol how did u get 2945??? wat rom do u use????

  • @mpgcristo1994 Juwe's ROM, Semaphore Kernel, LagFix enabled,

  • @Nitroimidazol who cares 3d games working fine in my se like asphalt 5 n 6 wrking perfect and backstab hd and nfs shift hd ...... nad ur sgs fps locked on 60 lolz by samsung bt sgs i9000 is a vry gd enjoy ur phon man :).

  • YOU'VE GOT THREE HANDS? Ö

  • @petterfurb that is a good fine, :) smart

  • What is funny, that even the HTC Legend with its 600Mhz CPU outperforms the Desire and the Nexus in this test. The legend has 33 fps, its because of its smaller screen size (320x480), so the GPU has less load.

  • oouuuu, nice score on samsung, i think it's best score ever :D

i get 40.3 fps on my LG GT540

  • I had a feeling I should wait unti upgrading to a higher end android phone(I have a g1)..the galaxy s was worth the wait... Now maybe we can have some good 3d games...dare I say, an attachable controller??

  • @Carmelartist123 ... It has the bluetooth, maybe an app for a ps3 controller??? That would be cool!

  • galaxy wins

  • very impressive

  • this result is obvius since the galaxy has a graphics card and the other two dont. It isnt processor problem.... -.- Anyway, i dont think im going to play games on phones. For that you have psp or NDS or a notebook...

  • Has anyone done similar tests for SGS vs Iphone 4 ? It would be interesting to see how I4 performs in such tests ?

  • I would get the iPhone 4 because it's aswsome and holy shit that guy has three hands

  • @chickcarle

    Please inform yourself before posting.

The Galaxy S is the best smartphone on the market. Also the Display is better (even without higher res.) than the display of the iP4.

  • @Mentor501 Similarly, you probably should do the same yourself bro. Better screen in this case is relative? Better for videos? Better for text/web? The Galaxy S is better in terms of color rendition, contrast and saturation. While the iPhone 4 allows reading text on web clearly without zooming it due to higher pixel density. So in terms of screen, there're pro's and con's for both.

  • @x2x3x2

I compared the two head by head, so no need to inform myself anymore. ;)

But yeah you are right. It's relative.

But even with the higher pixel density of the iP4 the galaxy S has the better video quality. (IMHO and the HO of many others I asked wich one they would prefer in vid showing both of the phones).

If it comes to text in the web mostly the text is far too tiny to read it on the iP4 . So most ppl have to zoom in anyway. eBooks seems a little bit more "printed" on the iP4.

  • @latinostar94

  • My goodness... the fact that we can achieve the sort of graphics on modern cell phones that early game consoles were striving to put out is a testament to how far technology has really come. Badass!

  • Droid X performed about 10% on most benchmark tests, except for the Linpack test in which both phones averaged 8 mflops.

  • Samsungやりおる。

  • I get 28.9 fps on my nexus one with froyo 2.2... overclocked to 1113mhz.

  • Comment removed

  • why has no one mentioned that the android build on nexus one and desire is framerate locked at ~30fps? there is a reason they got the same framerate.

im not saying the galaxyS isnt a great phone, because it is... but this comparison is flawed.

do this with framerate unlocked N1 and desire, or wait until android2.2 is out for all phones and run again.

  • @andyp31 how do you know that. is there a custom cooked room wihtout the framelock? it should be retested with such a rom.

  • @MrScreemi

    forum.xda-developers [dot] com/showthread [dot] php?t=699290

this is a thread for the EVO's framelock. i believe i read somewhere that it has affected other HTC devices as well (though i cannot find a link for that).

it should DEFINITELY be retested with an unlocked ROM (if the EVO fix is workable on N1/desire) or 2.2 across the board. i believe likely that there is frame rate locking going on. it is possible that there is not, but another test would clear it up.

  • The Galaxy S has higher fps because it's processor and graphics processor is simply the most powerful in any mobile so far. You can not make the Desire or Nexus one as fast as the Galaxy S because their processors aren't good enough...

  • @alexanderdenztore This is simply not true. What you are doing is comparing a 1 year old processor with a brand new one. We can see how well Qualcomm can compete with their next generation ARM processor. Furthermore, we haven't seen how it fares against TI's latest efforts, which will probably be implemented in the next Motorola based android phone. Furthermore, I am highly doubtful that this SOC is more powerful than the Dual Core Snapdragon processor.

  • @sabeerkibria

Now your just contradicting your statement. You've just said comparing a 1 year old processor with a "new" one is unfair.

Now your comparing a current SOC with a FUTURE snapdragon that has YET to be out.

Arent you just contradicting yourself there buddy?

  • @ConceptVBS No I am not contradicting myself, since I know that the latest generation OMAP4 and the latest generation Snapdragon processor can be purchased by high volume customers. As samsung is the one who fabricates the Hummingbird processor, they have a lower latency for product releases with their own brand. Hence you can see the hummingbird processor in the Galaxy S. I'm sure, if you built your own optimised board, you'll see equivalent if not better performance.

  • @sabeerkibria

Isnt that EXACTLY what people want? A low latency processor/ motherboard?

Then by definition all other smartphone manufacturers already have a disadvantage right from the get go as the chipsets from TI and Qualcomm is designed to be used by high volume customers with no customization ability on the part of the phone manufacturers. (Unless your a caliber of Samsung's size)

  • @ConceptVBS ???? Yes they are at a slight disadvantage. This is why you'll see at most a 2-3 month wait. For most consumers, they probably won't care. Unfortunately, you misunderstand what an SOC is from the get go. The Device manufacturer has the option to take out, and add whatever they want to the SOC design. Hence the manufacturer still has the customisation options available to them. The advantages are slight since you'll see the new processors very soon, perhaps a month or 2 after.

  • @alexanderdenztore

You'll never achieve good graphics performance out of any Qualcomm-based chipsets. Quality GPU performance and Qualcomm just do not add up to a valid equation.

  • @alexanderdenztore

And that, for the CPU, happens to be bullshit. Clock for clock Snapdragon CPU is 5% faster than Cortex A8.

GPU wise... Well, Qualcomm has never caught up with the times yet. Adreno 200 is positively outdated.

  • @rickysio

Tell that to my Galaxy S that benches higher than the Snapdragon in both Linpack and Benchmark Pi.

  • @alexanderdenztore im pretty sure u can overclock one to 1.2ghzzzz

  • @alexanderdenztore i can 50 on my droid x and my droid x demolishes it in quadrant

  • @alexanderdenztore they're good, they're just older, mkay dude?

  • @alexanderdenztore except for the htc desire HD

  • @alexanderdenztore that is true, the same for Samsung Wave, Samsung Galaxy Tab = processor Hummingbird, which Samsung created with company Intrinsity. Sadly, Intrinsity was purchased by Apple and therefore this processor (or its modifications by Apple) is also in Apple iPad and iPhone4

  • @alexanderdenztore there for sgs has some serious issues with I/O.

but its touchscreen is best. and it got more internal mem.

i think its currently the best but there will come much better (lets see forward for android 2.3 & 3.0)

  • @alexanderdenztore Well your English blows but looking beyond that you are correct when you say that the Galaxy S has a CPU and GPU but even when comparing the CPUs alone the 1GHz processor in the galaxy can handle 3x as much work as the Qualcomm snapdragon in the HTC desire. So mismatch is understated!

  • Galaxy S is the best

  • A FLASH AND A WHITE CASE WOULD MAKE THIS PHONE PERFECT

  • @isupposably

Don't know about a white case, but if you want camera flash, look at the Epic 4g with a slide out qwerty keyboard from sprint!

  • Well. HTC can update their phones to run in higher 3d frame rate due to its 1ghz snapdragon processor which is capable of. Im not sure with the Desire hope it will have 2.2 soon and can be par with the fram rate with the galaxy S

  • @luggage12345 Froyo is only for a CPU canculations and process speed up

but for more FPS you need a best GPU and this have dual channel HTC is single Channel memory in the GPU

  • Galaxy S with lancher pro Skin UI:

    youtube. com/watch?v=yvnzBtZimS4

  • this just mean one thing, galaxy s will be better to run 3d games like nova, asphalt, street fighter and many more solid 3d games for mobile.

  • No Quake 3 for example have the same amount of fixed frames but run as fast as they can. 10,000 frames in 62 seconds and is then calulated as average fps. However if i recall andriod is locked at 60fps if i recall. AT least there is plenty of power to spare :)

  • What I don't understand is why the Galaxy S the benchmark was faster, True benchmarks should take the same amount of time no matter what.

I just got 28.7 on my Nexus One

  • @xguntherc if a cpu or graphic core is slower, it occurs not only lower frame rates, but slower playtimes.

  • first time i see a benchmark run faster on different devices .. ;-)

to make a correct comparison they sould take the same time for the benchmark.

do i have to react faster if i play quake3 on the gS ? *lol*

  • @R06b3Rt You are not right here.

    Try running 3DMark on a P3, a P4 and a Quad Core.

You'll see very clearly, the Quad Core finish, a while later the P4 then the P3.

I know, because I ran it after I built my new machine. The benchmark has to run through the whole process to be a proper benchmarking tool.

  • @R06b3Rt

If you look at the cars slowly on 0:20 for the two devices to the right, you can see that they are lagging once they go under the building.

The Galaxy S is NOT lagging at all. So that is why it finishes first.

  • wow, I really got 55.6 fps on my samsung galaxy S, this is so true =DD

  • @lobaba1987 hey dude... I have a htc hd2 right now, and im kinda dissapointed with the battery life time.... and my friend got a samsung wave, it has amazing colors.. but im wondering, should i trade my htc hd2 to a samsung galaxy s?? or like an htc hd2 or is there any phone u recommend??= thanks, I lik a long lasting cellphone with a good screen, and A (this is important) good mucis player with ability to search through song library easly... Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @lobaba1987 wow... what happend with "super amoled = 80% more battery life time" dude.. seriously, cellphones can go suck a big ass fucking dick. im getting a nokia 3310 or something

  • @mantheman100

i was using 3G pretty intensively,if you off the animation dim the brightness you may get more than 1 day of usage.

  • android roxsss

  • Optimized for Qualcomm, if it was optimized for Crotex Galaxy S would get atleast 70 FPS

  • @Valztu

I want to see a lag fix patch on Galaxy S with Android 2.2 would be seriously fast.

  • @nraudigy there is no lag fix patch... It is a new compiler which will increase cpu speed. But that has almost nothing to do with this vid.

  • @Iwebguru No it isn't, there are lagfixes for the SGS and what they do is change the filesystem of the phone.

  • ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor much better than Snapdragon

  • I think samsung designs are much more asian's favorite.

GOOGLE NEXES 1 is really a trash. Desire is ok too me but it looks kinda tacky. But americans will gonno love it more.

  • @wankingweiner

I don't think so. Samsung is already working on Android 2.2 and going to release it before the end of this year. In interviews they have stated that this phone is their bread and butter and they are going to put all their efforts in to it.

I think this is true because it's their first power housed Android phone, they need to gain support now by keeping this phone up to date.

  • Now one more time with JIT :P

  • And yet the benchmark is optimized for qualcomm's snapdragon :P Raw power for the win :))))

  • @baxter009 The snapdragon is a redesigned cortex a8 and so is the i9000, i dont think anything is optimized for anything -.-

  • @rescawen

People who built the benchmark software optimized it for the specific modification that Qualcomm did to their cortex A8. Therefore, it is optimized for the Snapdragon. And yet the Hummingbird still gets a massive fps advantage over the Snapdragon.

  • does any1 know when the galaxy s is out in the UK

  • good video thx

  • will there be GSM version of samsung galaxy s?

  • I want to buy samsung

samsung is much better than others
