How to Jailbreak iPhone, or iPod Touch 3.0 with redsn0w (Mac)

if you are on a mac get pwnagetool from the dev team it works alot better

First off, thanks a ton for this video untouchable!

I got this problem too, so when it was stuck at the reboot I disconnected the USB, waited 3-4 seconds and then plug it back in. It worked after that!

just unplug iphone hold home button and sleep/wake button at the same time till you see the apple logo and close redsn0w then try it again

if you restore after you jailbreak then yes you will loose any jailbroken apps that you may have e.g. no cydia icy winterboard etc. also if you have any "cracked apps" then those will not work any more untill you jailbreak again

when it says to hold the home button for 30 seconds nothing happens when i hold the home button down no screen change or color flash or anything on my iphone 2g please help asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few things to try:

1. did redsn0w keep going like at 6:26 or not

2. if i did then everything is fine just let it do its thing if not keep reading

3. turn your iphone back on and quit redsn0w

4 reopen redsn0w and try it a agian (make sure itunes is closed)

5. if it still doesn't work restore in itunes then try it again

6. if it still doesn't work i would find a tutorial on how to use pwnagetool to jailbreak it.

No you don't have to keep holding it down after it goes to the next screen even if the countdown hasn't finished. They have a long countdown because the last part can take up to 30 seconds to get in to DFU mode. Also I miss spoke in the video. I thought that it was going to reboot after it did everything on the computer but it would also show some stuff on the ipod or iphone screen and then after that it would reboot
