I have only been riding dressage for 10 years. I have yet to totally understand what "Classical" dressage is. I have taken instruction from "Classical" instructors as well as "Modern" instructors. The "Modern" instructors seem to pay more attention to the use of the training scale, using the training scale to solve problems in your training. To me "Classical" should refer to a more "natural" method of training. I liked the video.
@TheOutsideRein I agree that modern Dressage uses the training scale and works on the concept of riding from back to front. Everything in moder Dressage should be encouraging the horse to engage the hind end and move to the bridle not the bridle to the horse.
Many classical Dressage trainers want the horse somewhat behind the hand or in otherwords very light in the bridle.
If you study classical writings you will not find much about it being natural.
