  • 1/23 vive algeria

  • the women at this meet ran their 1st lap in 55.04

  • Bozarkovsky is Mr. 800 m.

  • deutsche sternstunde

  • Incredibly tactical. I was expecting a much faster time maybe around 1:42-1:43

  • That kind of race is "tactical" only for the guys who can't run under 1.44.

For Kipketer, a tactic like that only puts the race up for grabs, where if he would shoot for 1.42, only one or two could possibly beat him.

  • Bozarkovsky from Russia is still running in world athletics 2011. And he gets bronze . Awesome.

  • The new Boys WR (U18) is faster!!! LOL :)

  • FORZA ITALIA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if you look at this race and the races now, you will notice that tere is no european left to compete with the kenyans... True fact!

  • Something not right about Nils.

  • Said Guerni would have won if he didnt get himself in such a bad position around the turn.

  • schuman caught doping , hes suspended

  • Race beginns at 3:30!

  • poor kipketer. He should have taken his responsabilities as el guerrouj did in athens

  • with a winning time of 1.45 they got what they had coming

you wanna win, run fast. Run slow, and you'll maybe win.

  • Give credit to Botswana.

  • Sauber, hoffentlich bekommen wir wieder mal eine goldene auf einer Langstrecke. Einfach bisschen öfters die Zähne putzen.

  • @Ndjumbah absolute rubbish

  • The outside is for winners.

  • longo got DQed i think

  • Zero dislikes - I like that. :)

  • I feel terrible for the swiss guy. he would have definitely been in the top 3.

  • poor, poor Kipketer.

  • andre longo the italian ,got caught doping one time

  • wow, weird race for a such a high class field. I understand championships normally go off slower and more tactical but since when do you see an elite field actually negative split an 800m? absolutely chaotic by elite standards.

  • immer schöne rein in die vene

  • Despite holding the WR, you can't deny that Kipketer ran a tactically inept race.

  • eamonn coughlin wud fuckin roast all of these cunts

  • @blondalina coughlin wasnt even an 800m runner. what exactly do you base your argument off? Kipketer was the WR holder and a slew of these men were at least 1:43 runners. I think your theory has a few holes in it. Don't get me wrong, Coughlan was a great runner over 1500m/5000m but he wouldnt have a prayer against these guys.

  • The Algerian had the best finish. At 5:02 he decides to take the looong way. If he just stayed behind Schumann, he wins it.

  • @phantasiehamster

True, the algerian Said Guerni and kipketer shoud have won it if they were not blocked on their tracks in the last 100 metres. They come back like a train.

  • usain bolt 2:40

  • alle gedopt wie immer..

  • this really test mentall toughness!

  • great race of andrea longo !!! keep leadership for long ... I support italy !

  • hurts my swiss sport heart again can u remove it? :)

  • Wow watching this again brings back the emotions I felt for Kipketer in 2000. To be forever denied the Olympic gold. In 1996, Kenya raised the objection, but here he had himself to blame by not trying to speed up the race, given his 'kick' wasn't his forte. He left himself to much too do, and ran out of track at the finish, but a fine run by Schumann, forever etching his name in history. Great run by young Russian, who would succeed Schumann in 2004.

  • KipCheater loses again!

  • @nykytne13 why the cheater part, what makes u think he was on drugs? yes he was extraordinarily fast, maybe coz he was talented. if he got caught, fire away, but he never was even placed under suspicion.

  • the italian guy Longo, should've been DQ'd by the looks of this and other tapes--he intentionally bumped the Swiss guy off the track...

  • Does the yellow line on the track mark the last 100 meters on this race? It appears as though Kipketer crosses that yellow line at either 1:33.9 or 1:34. He finished in 1:45.14.

  • yes it does. the yellow line is at the point where the turn ends and the straight start. both turns are each 100m and both straights are each 100m so that a lap in the stadium is in total 400m.

you can also see that shortly after the finish line the new turn begins so the way from the yellow line up to the finish line amounts exactly 100m.

  • no thats wrong. the yellow line marks the end of the transition zone for the relays...i think it is about 10 metres behind the 100m start...

  • from the yellow line it's 90 m to the finish

  • That Swiss runner got screwed over by the Italian! When he was pushed off the track, that had to have thrown off his rhythm. I bet he would have at least gotten the bronze if he hadn't been pushed.

  • emotional

  • If Dube of Botswana had the strength he could of pulled off a Dave Wottle, though if Saïd-Guerni actually sprinted in a better position he could've beaten Kipketer.

  • there is a lot of "what if's" there. That is what running is. IF someone was in a better position or someone kicked harder at a certain point then sure we coulda had a different winner but thats running. No point discussing what could of happened but look at what did happen

  • @Inc4ns yes your right about said guerni. while kipketer left it late, guerni left it even later. his last 100m was the fastest for sure.

  • "Borza", maybe the greatest 800m runner ever

  • Kipketer's last 100m... 11.14

  • IT's true!!! incredible!!!

  • @gianlucantu I believe I read somewhere that it is the fastest last 100 meters in an 800 meter race... though ironically it didn't result in a gold medal for Kipketer.

  • impossible.. it was 12.3 sec

  • @l2cr1m I may have been wrong, but I think that it was definitely faster than 12 seconds.

  • no im sure it was 12.3 sec. thats freaking fast for the last 100m in a 800m race. just look at the marks on the track and get youre stopwatch ready.

  • Ability aligned with tactical intelligence. If only........

  • con razon perdio kipketer no corrio inteligente

  • Tja, da hat sich die Einbürgerung Kipketers für den dänischen Verband doch nicht ausgezahlt. Zum Glück...

  • I wanted Kipketer to win, but it was a great finish by Schuman.......

  • @kissesbloody Dreimal Weltmeister und Weltrekordhalter ist aber nicht zu vernachlässigen ;)

  • Gold für Deutschland!!

  • @1J9A9N3 Ja,Deutschland!!!
