All MMO's are ruined in that aspect. They all emulate WoW's BG's and Arena's. No one cares, it's boring. Duels and World PvP were exciting and totally random. It was practically eternal content. Amazing vid, makes me think of the good times.
I think if many ppl wanted world PvP they'd just went out there and made it happen. But they don't, because it's too chaotic, time comsuming and for the most part – boring. World dragons are fun though IMO. I think some ppl are just being nostalgic about things.

I quit WoW about 2 months ago, hoping this would be the last time. I've taken tons of breaks but never actually quit, but at this point the game is just too far gone to actually be fun.
Just today though I decided to check out my armory, and couldn't help but get a little sad seeing my level 60 i never leveled with his classic gear, and my 85 who I built so many memories with. Like it or hate it, WoW was a pretty big part of my life, and I had some good times.
enjoyed my first taste of blood in this game back in Lakeshire when i played alliance. Probably my favorite thing ever was when we would have multiple raids gathering near thorium point and duking it out, just for the fun of it.
world pvp isn't dead, its just not as alive as it used to be. I kill 20+ people a day, if i do my dailies. The issues lies within the players, not the game, ive been ganking, and seen people just stand there, watching others die, thinking, well at least hes not hitting me, i can kill this mob then get away. Also seen people log over and complain about me killing them, they just wanna get their dailies done, and log off, Seriously, learn the game, and stop letting a rogue in greens kill you.
I miss the old days where we run pass ashenvale to the borders of warsong to attack razorhill. The server was pretty young that time only has a few LvL 40 mounts and only a handfull has Epics. Imagine the trek we have to go.
AshenVale and Razohill was our battleground. Yes it was usual but we feel the need to attack it to defend warsong!
the only reason i left wow is because blizzard killed their own game, u ar basically a robot and have to do everything in a certain way u log in do dailies go to raid or do arena, there is nothing else to do in this game so i left it i started playing in TBC and those good times i will never forget them, R.I.P WORLD OF WARCRAFT u will be sadly missed :(

@lolyeahwhat Stormwind sucks dick, about 100 guards running after you. I thought id never say this, but i miss Wotlk, go on top of ironforge bank was fun, and s8 was pretty much almost balanced, just needed a bit of caster reduced damage ( about 5-10% )
for the whole of wotlk, me and my friends did alot world pvp, 8 of us vs the whole of org and lasting 10-20 minutes at a time, 2 of us raiding crossroads, becoming outnumbered, getting backup, the horde did the same untill it was an epic 10 v 10 fight, with more horde flying in every few minutes to try kill us, good good times

I loved being able to stay up at night and push between TM and SS. Stupid Vixn used to snipe me out of shadow melds. I remember late one night, a friend who later quit before BC, put on some techno. We rode around from WPL to EPL, ganking everyone 50-60, then we met our arch enemies, Imperium, on sargeras. We fought from Lights hope to Strat.

would love an open world event that actually mattered, it would bring so many more people back to the game, instead its being constantly dumbed down for "casual" players to the point where the game isnt one anymore. This is really sad the only thing i can go to remember what this game used to be are the 60 lvl raids. even though they took out zul'gurub ( my favorite) and i can solo all of them with a pally. Currently flying mounts are destroying all forms of world pvp, imagine what BG's and arenas would be like if everybody was just chilling out mid-air, that's the impact it does on world pvp.
I'm not saying blizzard should completly remove flying mounts from the game, but they should add reasons for players to travel by ground, because as it is now your ground mount is pretty much useless once you get the flying mount.. And as long as everybody stays in the air world pvp is gonna be dead.

Just like the Alliance that tried to start some outside of Org a few days ago, and THUNDAH CATZ beat their ass and they ran away. =(
Times were good, but it's mostly nostalgia and just that. It was great fun for me, but only because I found myself a good guild, and was a rogue in T2 eventually. I could point out one person and just kill him with little skill applied. As fun as it was for me, my friends keep bitching about how terribly unbalanced this game was back then and they have fair arguments too. Fun for 10%, horrible for the other 90%.

I have fond memories of world pvp. Back in Vanilla, before BGs, pvp gear, arenas and resilience. The game as of now makes it so you rarely have to leave a major city.

This is really sad the only thing i can go to remember what this game used to be are the 60 lvl raids. even though they took out zul'gurub ( my favorite) and i can solo all of them with a pally. Remember when it used to take 40 ppl? world pvp has benn dieing over the years and is dead now. gear is too easy and gold is too easy. trade chat is filled with off topic nonense. i only play this game to remember what it used to be

Currently flying mounts are destroying all forms of world pvp, imagine what BG's and arenas would be like if everybody was just chilling out mid-air, that's the impact it does on world pvp.
I'm not saying blizzard should completly remove flying mounts from the game, but they should add reasons for players to travel by ground, because as it is now your ground mount is pretty much useless once you get the flying mount.. And as long as everybody stays in the air world pvp is gonna be dead.

High Warlord Steveracitym of Archimonde reporting in. I miss world PvP a lot, too. Even trying to start it these days seems to lead to people running away the second they die, and never coming back. Just like the Alliance that tried to start some outside of Org a few days ago, and THUNDAH CATZ beat their ass and they ran away. =(

Times were good, but it's mostly nostalgia and just that. It was great fun for me, but only because I found myself a good guild, and was a rogue in T2 eventually. I could point out one person and just kill him with little skill applied. As fun as it was for me, my friends keep bitching about how terribly unbalanced this game was back then and they have fair arguments too. Fun for 10%, horrible for the other 90%.

WoW didn't realize that with the controlled pvp parts they removed the gamers freedom of gaming. Who gives a fuck if there are 3 towers we are allowed to conquer just because blizzard says so....
Light hope chapel stays guarded by npc's who respawn in record time.
Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor will stay dead and 25-man world bosses we have to fight the other faction over with the entire guild till early in the morning are gone forever.

Damn fine video. To say nothing of the PvP aspect of what WoW has become, this video is beautiful and touching. Makes me miss WoW. Damn it was hard to quit and this is making it even harder. Although knowing what it has become allows me to take solace.

I have fond memories of world pvp. Back in Vanilla, before BGs, pvp gear, arenas and resilience. The game as of now makes it so you rarely have to leave a major city.

It really captures the essence of a part of wow that we all used to love... This is now gone..
I also miss the 40 mans... It was so much mroe rewarding when your guild downed rag for the first time, because you knew that all 40 people coordinated together to complete one global goal.
Unlike the 25 mans/10 mans, its not as challenging in my opinion.
