Greetings everyone, I'm a scientist, I played blackjack professionally in Las Vegas for many years starting at 21, I have a mathematical system that works better than you would believe, by knowing how to manipulate the math into your favor. A "Hard Hand" isn't called a "Hard Hand" becuase it's hard to hit. It is hard because it has reached a total with nother possible total. A "Soft Hand" is a had with an Ace in it that could have two totals. A Hard 17 would be a face or 10 card with a 7 card. A soft 7/17 would be an Ace with a 6 card.

@sooshyiskool Couting cards is pointless unless you play basic with it. If you play 'mostly' correct basic, like most players do, you suffer on average a -2% disadvantage. Counting cards only gains about 1%, so you're still playing into a house edge. If you play perfect basic, you're around a -.5% house edge. Along with counting you be around a +.5% edge and have the advantage vs. the house. Finding good table rules and using index plays increase that even more. But basic is essential!

personal experience....i played online black jack,,,,my average winning was 50 to $60. a day....playing approx 4 to 5 hrs...didnt enjoyed....i live in vegas,,,play on black jack casino tables...now i average about $600 to 800 a day winning .on loosing $100 and i leave casino that day.trick is to make a loosing limit and determine play time limit  as i only play 4 hrs,,,even im winning .

ok the problem I always have is this. How can u draw on a 16 when u have more chance to bust than not whatever the dealer has and secondly how can u split 8's when the dealer has a 9 or above so even if u get two 10's the dealer can still beat u with one card only. @staypress 16 is the worst hand in BJ because you can ONLY win if the dealer busts, which will happen less than half the time, thus improving your hand to a win even half the time is a +EV proposition.

As mentioned above, 16 is the worst hand in poker, so taking two 8s against any dealer upcard is better than hitting a 16 and trying to beat it.

Basic math skills is basicly it this is a game of chance for some people but to others it's a game of logic vs. The dealer. You can simply count the cards to improve your odds of winning and all you need is some practice and atleast the ability to put 1 and 1 together and do the basic equations:

1+1=2

-1+1=0

-1+-1=-2

Tomgun, the reason why most people end up losing is twofold: 1) the game is about 1/2% in favor of the house against a perfect player and 2) the casino's bankroll is HUGE, so a few short term losses do not matter, vs. a loss of $1000 for a table player may be devastating.  And Macdizz, you couldn't be more wrong. Not hitting your 12 vs a dealer nine is suicide. I'm not talking from my own observation but millions of simulated blackjack hands prove it.

this isnt really very good advice. at the end when he says you should hit on 12 vs a dealer 9? in that situation your pretty much fucked either way. its best to hope for dealer bust because really the only card that would help you is an 8 or a 9. if you get a picture you go bust and if you take a card and its not an 8 or 9 youre TAKING the dealer bust card. if the dealer takes a picture you were fucked anyway but if dealer takes a 7 or less you have just saved your ass

You always split 8s. Period. Blackjack isn't a game of psychology. It's straight mathematics. Fail to follow that, and you will lose in the long run. It really is that simple. Listening to bad players and their subjective analysis is a recipe for disaster in this game. The MIT team used basic strategy and card counting to win millions. once you have learned how to play well,try this betting system. Keep it simple. I start with 10 $100.00 chips and I play till I'm 1 chip ahead. Then quit. You will eventually lose your 10 chips but hopefully you will be many chips ahead by then. I played 45 times before I busted. Ergo, made $4500.00. Lost $1000.00.

Red, Black, 1st or 2nd half, any running three or any third is 1:18 (as zero or double-zero always win for the house on those bets, which is 2 slots of the 38 available). If your casino pays better than 35:1 on 0 and 00 then the house edge might go down overall, but I wouldn't count on it.

A "hard hand" is NOT called hard because it's hard to hit. A 2,2 is a hard 4 and 4 is not hard to hit!

A "hard hand" or "hard total" is a card total taken at face value, where an Ace cannot be used as 11 without going over 21.

A soft hand can use an Ace as a 1 or an 11 without exceeding 21.
