@karinosai Late response to your week-old post, but the knife in BC2 is broken. Although I don't like many of the decisions in BF3, they did a great job with how they fixed the knife.

In BC2, it is the same as CoD4 where you lock on to the person. You often times get a massive lunge, and it is possible to knife people through walls as long as you lock onto them before they step behind a wall.

@jakanddax0 Two week old, actually. Also, you usually only get the long-ass lunges if you try to knife someone sprinting/moving away from you. It's to prevent people from losing their chance at the knife kill if someone starts moving right after you initiate it. The reason it "works better" in BF3 is due to it initiating a cinematic in which you knife them, instead of straight up knifing them. It's rather like assassinations in Reach. Instead of knife lunges, it's self lunges.

@karinosai (said 1 week earlier =o) I don't think they fixed it because it's cinematic. Sure, it looks good, but the reason I think they fixed the knife is because you can't get an insta-kill to the face of someone like in BC2.

I like the fact you have to get 3 hits (2 in the new patch) to the face with the swipe. There's no slow, lock-on stab. The BF3-style knife is much nicer for breaking windows. In BC2, for doors and windows you always shout out loud "take this mother f**ker."

@jakanddax0 Mine's showing 2 weeks. Hmm... Meh, YouTube is shitty, and we all know it. I wasn't saying it's cinematic because it was fixed (if that's what you're implying... I'm tired, get off my back, man :U), I'm saying that being cinematic fixed it. And with the issues of knives to the face, it's a pretty powerful stab, and trying it usually gets you killed, so I never found it much of a big deal. I have to agree about the last bit, though. Sometimes it was funny, though. Dependent on mood.

I GOT 3 QUICK QUESTIONS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO HELP PLEASE:

1. People say that u have a limited amount of "tickets" for lives? So if u lose all ur tickets... u have to sit out the rest of the match and let ur team do the rest of the work? Or is the match over when everyones tickets together ends? that would really suck.

2. People say somethin about health packs... i thought if u just took cover from getting hurt... u regain ur health like any other FPS?

3. Do ppl stil play BC2 online?

1. On consoles, Attackers have 75 tickets in Rush mode while defenders have unlimited in rush. In Conquest, each team has about 300 tickets. PC custom servers might be different

3. Yes, but now that Battlefield 3 has released there might be a smaller population playing Bad Company 2, but it's still awesome.

@GermanTakeover They're both really really really bad. Infinity Ward have stated that they're fixing it in MW3 which is AWESOME. I hope that dice eliminate it in BF3 as well. I'm sick of melee in every modern FPS being more effective than your gun half the time, it should be a last resort or a humiliation kill rather than an easy instant kill button

@LordNethesis are you playing on console? i used to play on 360 and that happened quite often. but on PC i have only had 1 instance of the knife failing to kill when it should have. In my time on PC i have pulled off some fucking ridiculous commando lunges and been killed by them quite a few times too.And with regards to the map size that's mostly true but if you play squad DM for a while you might be involved in more close quarters fights where the knife glitches will surface more often

In one instance I was on the bridge in Arica Harbor Rush mode, and I jumped backwards off the bridge right as he knifed me, so that he flew off the bridge from the lunge :D
