I eat there when i go to my friends house in broward i get it with onions , bell pepers,marinera sauce,and parmesean cheese as toppings in my opinion its their the best steak hoggies ever . Best part its only 5 minutes away

Ok, the Cheez Whiz argument is stupid! Seriously people, look it up! Cheez Whiz was introduced to the market in 1953 and the Philly Cheese steak was invented in the 1930's. Do the the math! A Cheese Steak with whiz is just the preferred way in Philly, that does not make it authentic. Pretty much every spot in Philly that sells Cheese Steaks will give you multiple cheese options, including Whiz. An authentic Philly Cheese Steak is a steak sandwich with cheese. Thats the Original.

Everyone talking about real cheese steaks on here sound like idiots. Rea cheese steaks are from Philly where they do use cheeze whiz. You may not like it. it may be full of fillers and crap, but don't go off arguing about real cheese steaks and talking about cheeses that aren't used on original authentic cheese steaks!

I was there as an 8 year old when they opened--knew Sonny well. We would go there in the early to mid 60's after our Jr High dances. A few doors down there was Al's Barbershop which also was a bookie joint..LOL.. My late friend Donnie Wade's dad Dave cut hair there and for a few summers--the barber shop was closed on Wednesday's....we would go in and sweep and clean the shop--they paid us $3 a piece--after we finished we would go to Sonny's for lunch. I left Hollywood in '75....RIP Sonny....
