  • just want to say Thank You to all that down loads these fantastic songs that I grew up with. Thank you so very much. they just don't make music like this any more music that is really music..

  • delshannon com / runaway DOT eychteeemL

  • You're wrong all. It's a custom-modified analog monophonic synth. Here: read, all about it! I always thought it was a piccolo recorder, until I noticed an obvious palm glissando, what a warm sound!

  • Though most originals should not be fu#&ed with, like this one, Bonnie Rait did a slooow cover. Not bad.

  • I really can't tell, but what instrument is being played at 1:11 ?

  • @SerratedAMG

I think it's a Theremin. But upon further research, I'm wrong it was a Clavioline which is a really primitive synth.

  • @SerratedAMG I'm not sure but I think it's a Hammond B-3. Look through the thumb nails there is one that Del talks a quick history no this composition with a friend who duplicates the riff on his keyboard. Great song. Grab the TV series Crime Story version and listen for the lyric change.

  • @SerratedAMG The instrument is called SOLOVOX.

  • Does anybody know who plays the end credits version in crime story? I like the guitar solo. I don't like a lot the original version with the keyboard, but the one in crime story was really good

  • I loved the film footage to this song in American Graffiti. I really captured the late 50's energy. I didn't see this on You Tube - is this because of copyright issues?

  • so sad he killed himself.i don't know if it's true but I heard there was some truth to this song, that he lost someone he loved.Maybe thats why he killed himself.I like this song.what a shame when someone feels like life is so bad they have to end it,

  • if you're into Hardcore music listen to to Blood For Blood's cover.

  • one of my favorite songs ever. best piano solo ever. tight smithrosematy

  • Just try the French version by Dave called Vanina. I think it's a better one, isn't it?

  • I tried the Franch cover of this song. Not bad, great crowd pleaser and a lot of excitement!!. Very similar. I think is has a lot to do with your memories of this song from long ago. I'm sure the French love it. Dave Levenbach sings Vanina - 1975

  • You're totally right : we're used to hearing Dave's version in Francophonie (I live in Switzerland) and it reminds us of our youth...

  • You out there, Paul?? You told me this song reminded you of your father when you were a kid. Hope you are well...Your ex from many moons ago :)

  • oh wow cool! where do u work??

    xx

  • Dollar Tree, lol.

  • It was the same for me when I worked at Hannaford :P

  • This is the theme of TV drama "Crime Story". I would often watch this series on TV in the late eighties or early nineties in Japan. The last scene is so cool. Five members of Chicago Police Department's Major Crime Unit stand with guns. Lieutenant Mike Torello ( マイク トレロ警部補 ) vs. Ray Luca ( レイ ルカ ), who's street hood trying to gain money and power by whatever means.

  • Fu**ing BRILLIANT! Technology killed the art of writing fine, songs like this one.

  • They'll be back.

  • @klavss76 also the fact that love isnt what it used to be. Love is dying. Individuality is growing.
