  • hello buddy nice video...I would like to put a single weber idf 40 and a small supercharger with 0,6 pressure in my beetle, but I don`t know if it will be good. The configuration is a original1600cc just with w110 engle cam. What do you think about it? tks and see my videos.

  • @paulinhovwaircooled

not sure about superchargers man....i have no experience with them at all...

    sorry i couldn't help....thx for watchin'

  • hey there good buddy i got a 63 bug baja and im running the duall 34ict webers and honestly, i really dispise them. im thinking about switchin back to the single carb. What would be the best single carb to run?

thanks for all the help, take care

  • @Next2Nothing169

that is a good question.....i guess it really depends on the size of the engine you are running. A lot of guys swear by Weber Progressive carbs for stock engines, i've had mixed success with them. What kind of problems are you having with your ICT's, that is my favorites carb setup, maybe the issue can be resolved?

    take care buddy!

  • Hello. Hambone, ive seen this WEBER 32/36 DFAV PROGRESSIVE TWIN CHOKE CARBURETTOR on ebay and its new and unused. Do you thik it wouldbe any good for my 1600ccstock engine?

and thanks for your continued help. Woudnt have started it without you.

  • @MrFrododundee

i've used them in the past and had some success with them.....they are still very popular. thx for watchin' man i always appreciate your comments!

    take care buddy!

  • Hey! Greetings from Norway. Nice videoes!

  • @80AFT

thx man.....glad you are enjoying my channel!

  • i just took the carb & manifold off. it turns out the manifold was repaired badly one of the bottompipes i think they are called heater chanels or something they feed into the exhaust. well they have been repaired meaning the main tubes that connect to the manifold via rubber gaskets were very squint so i have ordered a new manifold. as before i just couldnt stop it from back firing. maybe you can tell me what jet sizes i should use for a pretty straight 1600? your video was a god send thanks.

  • @marcolovebucket

it's hard to say because elevation as a bit to do with jet size, however i would start with 40's and go from there.

    hope this helps....

  • hi mate i am running the same carb on my 1600 flat 4 can you tell me how to get it running good without changing the jets? this would be great i have always wanted to be able to tune a weber properly. thanks mark from scotland.

  • @marcolovebucket

that's difficult to answer, I'm not sure what would be causing your engine not to perform well. One big improvement would be using a good intake from CB Performance, they have designed their intake in such a way that the normal "flat-spot" between shifts has been eliminated.

can you give me more specifics concerning the performance issue?

    hambone

  • I also have a 40 idf and im havig trouble jetting it. could you tell me all of what is in the 40 IDF in your video

  • @ironman1912009

45's.....but that varies a bit.....altitude and engine displacement have a lot to do with it.

    hope this helps,

    hambone

  • Where can I buy a singlecarb setup with manifolds etc like the one in the movie? I have a type 4 engine too....

  • @MEANBUGS

CB Performance.....i've never been disappointed in their products or service....

    thx for tuning in!

  • Hello! Your videos are great! I need your help

Just a 44IDF Weber has similar performance with a dual Weber 40?

What better setting would cost X benefit?

I ask this because I have the opportunity to purchase a kit like this video, but I doubt related and performance.

Here in Brazil it is VERY difficult to get performance parts, then I would advice or a hint his relation to it. My Beetle is a 1900cc (85.5mm pistons and crankshaft 82mm) Command W110, 1.25:1 rockers and valves with 39x32mm

  • @ricgomes007hotmail

I would think it would be fine-just make sure you have access to different sized jets for tuning purposes....these carbs are great put are sensitive to altitude...etc.....

thx for watchin'....glad you are enjoying the videos!

  • @1968hambone

    Thanks for the reply!

Yes, Here I have access to different sized jets for tuning purposes ...

My only fear was about the performance, thought they were well below the double set of Weber40.

Thank you just set the configuration of my engine. I wish you success and to continue to post good videos ...

Sorry about the translation by Google. Thanks Ricardo

  • @ricgomes007hotmail

i see....well, i am a big fan of dual carbs for a number of reasons, you'll never get the throttle response out of a single that you can expect from a set of duals for example, but you can still achieve good performance from a single carb.....

    take care my friend!

    hambone

  • @wolfsheadoil

well i had no idea how much until i started tuning these IDF's....they seen to be very sensitive to it....

    take care buddy

  • @wolfsheadoil

thx dude....i appreciate the vote of confidence!

  • I see ya got the I V hooked up.

  • @Chooman69

oh yeah....it's general procedure for all my patients....lol

  • Dr. HB! You are the man for these motors.

  • @edzgarage

lol....thx Ed....i appreciate the vote of confidence bro

I'm still learnin' a lil bit day by day!

    take care my friend!

  • brilliant HB i got some twin 40 idf carbs on my type 4 2.0, havin trouble setting mine up, mine is backfires through the carbs! & stumbles on the exhaust,, the carbs make a sort of sucking sound every so often any advice bro, i have 50 idles & 150 mains fll tubes, 55 pump jets

  • @smallweights

the backfire makes me think you have a lean condition....it's hard to tell w/o hearing the engine run first hand. If you know for sure you have no vacuum leaks i would change my idles to 55's or 60's first thing

    hope this helps dude!

  • Lookin and soundin great hambone...... cant wait to see it in the van!

  • @farmall1938

thx farmall.....this jugglin' of projects is gettin' frustrating...i'm waiting on parts for both van now!....lol
