Those were in the LGA 775 days.. I am on Socket 1366 now and all water cooled with EK blocks overclocked @ 4.2 920 D0, on a classified.. as well as an overclocked GTX 470
on air I only had it to 3999.X to 4.02 or something like that temps were low 30's to about 34 on idle.. and load 12+hours orthos like 54 to 56 on my Zalman.. on Water slash 5 degrees C off all numbers..
Really? I have the E8400 OC'd to 3.6 with the 9700 (facing backwards that is) and i idle at about 98 F. Do you the fact that my cooler is backwards could really raise the temps that much?
Is you cpu and hsf seated right. is the thermal paste on there sufficiant enough to cool it.
I lapped my cpu and hsf as well.
so if you want I think it's worth at least to try once. hence my water cooling adventure. I'll be doing it when I get my 780i build back up and running. but when I go i7.. I may not. anyways.
Im pretty sure they are seated correctly. I use Arctic Sliver 5 as my thermal paste but i think lapping the cpu and cooler is what makes such a big difference.
What do u mean by "so if you want I think it's worth at least to try once"?
Very very nice video.^^ I also bought this case today. it´s fantastic and your computer is also great. But it would be nicer if there were 3 280gtx^^.
how do u hook the replacement northbridge fan onto the north bridge?

@dGabRieLm07
Well you use the fan header that is used with the default fan.
It's a 3 pin fan connector.
happy modding.

ArmyofSeaturtles 2 years ago
it did... just use a cheap fan from any pc store.. I think it's a 60mm one.. only a few bucks man.
and the stock fan is noisy as heck..

Whats temps do you get on your cpu?
Also. Did you add a custom window?

I meant with the lapping and stuff.
If done right you could go a long way with it.
You cpu will run cooler...

well I would tri sli. but there is no room on the board for other stuff. e.g sound cards...wireless cards. maybe a tv tuner.
SLI will be my best bet.
Thanks for the comments.

Thanks again guys.
wow this NZXT Tempest is causing quite a stir.

Good modding, my friend.
We should jump that hindu kid and take his shit.
We'll test mod a shitload of stuff with his case. Or transfer your case to his and vice-versa.
Anyways, good shit.
I'm looking forward to the future. It's gonna be OFF THE HINGES!
