Anytime I hear her all I have to listen to the song at least 3 times in a row, cuz the first 2 times I just keep saying aloud, "DAMN, THAT GIRL COULD SING!" & WHOO! SING IT PATSY. :)
@VASINGER Maybe we should send ThMg2333 some q-tips and peroxide to clean out the ear wax. Don't get me wrong I love both versions but to say Patsy's version is horrible???? I'm with you...I'm still waiting for a punchline.
The version in Coal Miner's Daughter is my favorite because of the simple music and different inflection on the vocals. Patsy Cline had a more operatic voice, very strong, but Sissy Spacek sang it more broken up and hillbilly, which I didn' t like at first until it grew on me.
Thanks for posting this one Joan. This is the first time I've heard this song by Patsy. No one can ever compare with her fantastic voice . I heard this song years ago by Webb Pierce and liked it from the start. It's much better by Patsy - I like her style. - Paula
Joan - I, too, love Sissy Spacek's singing this song as Loretta Lynn in the movie. It's pure country and that makes it special. You have done a great job with all these pictures of Patsy Cline. She always dressed so classily when she performed, which I love when someone does a show for the fans and audiences. I have often wondered if Patsy actually preferred rockabilly type music over classic country - although everything she has done has been a winner. Thanks again. - Paula

Thank you for posting images of Patsy prior to her two accidents.
Missed and she will never be forgotten as one of the best female singers (close to Anita Carter) that has ever been recorded.

Patsy's excellent vocals supplemented by the great Hank 'Sugerfoot' Garland on lead guitar with the licks.

Sissy played Loretta Lynn not Patsy but she was awesome for sure,

Patsy's voice was golden. Patsy was solid gold ( a term that's over-used these days) but it certainly applies to her. 5*****

patsy was only 30yrsold when she died in 1963 in the plane crash a young lady in her prime.

Patsys voice can only be compared to that of an angel, may she always live on in her music and our hearts.

Patsy does have her way, I also like Loretta Lynns version along with Sissy Spacek. All were done with the same type of style.
