  • Maybe my favourite moment in all of the series.

  • @Noface121

Yup. Brent Spiner is The Shit. He outshined everyone else in that series.

  • LOVE IT XD LOL

  • A vision of Justin Bieber perishing...

  • So THATS where he put Pinkie Pie's laughter.

  • Geordi disliked...bastard

  • He looks like Stan Laurel

  • @smilzomagro When 'ST: Generations' came out Entertainment Weekly came out with a special edition magazine. They interviewed Brent Spiner and his photo showed himself posed like Stan Laurel.

  • @Amar7605 So, I had a good intuition ;)

  • That's actually really nice of Q to have given Data that moment.

  • He is great in this, what ep. this is @00banky00

  • @The1976bella Deja Q

  • Man, I just wanted to slap Jordie in the face for interrupting Data, and let Data enjoy a feeling that we take for granted. Just my feelings on the matter.

  • And HOW was Brent Spiner never nominated for anything?

  • He must've seen the scripts for Enterprise

  • @MrEriklenn Q planted the image of Worf's jellybean-sized penis in Data's head and that's why he laughed.

  • I don't know what's better, Data laughing or all the WTF looks he's getting throughout the clip.

  • Data's laughing cause worf's head looks like a fanny!

  • And that's how Data earned his cutie mark.

  • @northrupthebandgeek I am so gonna draw that, if someone doesn't beat me too it first.

  • When I first watched this episode, I just took it for granted that Q gave Data the ability to laugh for a while from out of nowhere. Now I know that this is actually what happened to Pinkie Pie's laughter when Discord corrupted her. It all makes sense now!

  • Q later equalized this act of goodness by taking away Pinkie Pie's laughter.

  • @sourcreampsycho128 And now we know where it went!

  • @timfortune9 $2o says that there's fan art of Data laughing at Grumpy-Pie

  • @sourcreampsycho128 Thank for further cementing how big of a dick I thought Discord was. :p

  • uncontrollable laughter followed by confusion as to what was even being laughed at. Yep my trained eye tells me that Q' "going away present" to Data was some LSD.

  • 0:58 Your face....GODDAMIT!

  • The best edit I've seen of this laugh is on the video Star Trek Vs. Star Wars by DMPhoenix

  • This makes me so happy!

  • Thanks LaForge for killing Data's buzz, ass.

  • You can't help but laugh along with him

  • Never mind...my bad, i see it now LOL

  • what Episode is this?

  • @billyadkins35 Star Trek TNG: Deja Q

  • love data .....he so incredible awsome .....and he looks good too . I kinda off miss watching star trek ..... .

  • thought he was about to throw up or something lol

  • Must've had a look at Star Trek: Enterprise's ratings.

  • "No, no, no, no, no, no. I would never curse you by making you human."

Probably the smartest thing I've ever heard in my entire lifetime.

  • That just kind of brightens my day.

  • "I would never curse you by making you human," theres something to think about

  • Oh gawd, he laughs like my older brother... x\

  • I thought that was rude of Geordi to rob Data of that moment.

  • I believe his next line was "Take my Worf please".

  • Hahaha this episode was so funny.

  • Humor scenes are funnier when it happens to serious characters.

  • thumps up if your not the only one laughing! xD

  • i wonder how many times this had to be refilmed.

not because of brent spiner, but because of the rest of the cast

  • He's right, laughter is a wonderful feeling :)

  • Around 0:59 I showed him the scene where Picard tells Wesley to shut up xD

  • Data must've seen the ratings for Enterprise

  • does evreyone miss somthing here data always wants to be human yet he doesnt choose the option to be human from q he wishis to become human through his own abilitys in only some way he imbraysis larphter as an expearience.pls be more respective of data rather than acting as the part

  • Press 4 and wait 1 second for some cheap lulz.

  • O_o WTF?

  • he played data on startrek oh ya i wonder what hes doing nowdays HES PROBABLY GETTING FUCKED IN THE ASS

  • @konastinkykid Looks like he's been pretty busy since ST:TNG actually...

    imdb.com/name/nm0000653/

  • That is my cute and adorkable Data!!! >.<

  • So this is what you get for the man who has everything...

  • Geordi just HAD to ruin it... yet again

  • On the subject of Data's desire for humanity, check out my upload his weird finger movements from the Farpoint episode.

  • @TKTRV Thumbs down for being incomprehensible. Go get your universal translator adjusted and then come back.

  • Could we all just stop bashing geordi? It had to end sooner or later, just saying...

  • Reminds me irresistibly of Tom Hulce's laugh in "Amadeus". xD

  • this is my ringtone

  • @CountryHotStuff thats awesome XD

  • Brent Spiner could be a very effective comedic actor if he wanted to be.

  • Jordi hadda ruin the moment by asking

  • I like the perplexed expression on his face after his first attempt to hold back laughter!! 0:40- 0:44

  • Ah La Forge ruined the moment...T_T

  • Data was truly the comic relief, yet, he did it in his own unique way. He's definitely my favorite character on TNG hands down. Lost and Heroes has got nothing on Star Trek!

  • @TheInuyanma But on the other hand, I love the fact that Data's comedic relief role in the show was always subtle and secondary, and his nature as an android (not human, lack of emotions, physical and mental superiority etc.) was pretty often a very relevant plot detail. Best seen during the interactions with Dr. Maddox.

  • Give him green hair and a big red smile on his face and he's the daddy of Mark Hamill and Heath Letger :>

  • @siralucard19 =)) =d>

  • this scene put me off geordie because he cut short data's experience. why could'nt he just realise what was happening and let data enjoy it

  • shit owns

  • Brent Spiner is the kind of actor that he may not be the biggest name in hollywood but if you can get him in your play, tv show or movie then whoever did the casting did a great job because he always plays each part he plays perfectly

  • Q reveals to Data the future of Star Trek Franchise.

  • @murtumaton That is...the best description ever! ROFL!

  • Geordi- "Data?"

    Data looks at Rikers face...

    "BAGAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH"

    Serious face

  • Instead of Data just spontaneously laughing, Q should have whispered into his ear as if he were telling Data a joke.... and THEN Data laughs.

  • one of the most hilarious laughs ever :)

  • Geordi, you idiot! You had to ask Data why he was laughing! Then he realized that he had no reason to laugh. What Data doesn't yet know, is that you don't always NEED a reason to laugh.

  • The innocence of Data has he just simply says "It's a wonderful.....feeling", just makes you want to smile.

  • one of my favorite scenes ever

  • I never understood why Data didn't want Q to make him human...

  • @msinvincible2000 Probably because he felt that would be "cheating", that he wanted to make the journey himself, to learn what it was to be human.

  • @msinvincible2000 The same reason Wesley didn't want Q to make him an adult and that Picard and Riker didn't want to be given Q's powers: they wanted to get their on their own terms, even if it meant never achieving it—the journey is just as, if not more important than the destination. That's in line with the Prime Directive, which prohibits the Federation from instantly advancing pre-warp societies to their level of technology.

  • @TaintedMustard get there*

  • Aw... Data probably really needed that. Data is so kick ass!

  • He sounds like a dying goose XDDD

  • i could watch this all day...i love it at the end, the little "Hnn" sound he makes before stopping XD <3

  • It was a wonderful felling...wow...Remember that.......

  • I love how he looks at Geordi when he says his name but then explodes with laughter! :D

  • I like when he paused in his laughter and his head bobbled before he continued. :D

  • Data did have an orgasm. He had sex with the borg queen. Watch star trek: first contact

  • @tsannick But that was after he installed his emotion chip.

  • "Oh no, I would never curse you by making you human. Think of it as a going away present."

    *Data laughs hysterically*

I love Q and Data. Both are awesome star trek characters.

  • Brilliant! So funny! XD and amazing acting by Brent

  • Q: Data I've decided to give you something very very special.

Data: If your intention is to make me huma-

Q: No no no no no I would never curse you by making you human

    Data: =(

  • Hmm, that reminded me of the Joker. I love Data. lol

  • I'll have what he's having.

  • Humor! I love it! :)

  • never been a huge star trek fan but i always loved data

  • Cmon data, it's laughter, not an orgasm. XD

  • @ShadowWolf3998 LOL, To Data, it must have felt like one ;).

  • @ShadowWolf3998 Now that would be a great present, make Data to have an orgasm

  • @burguerqueen000 I think he can have orgasms, what he can't feel are emotions, but orgasms have nothing to do with emotions, so...

  • @JAZMINPISACO Actually he can't, because he lacks real nerve endings capable of feeling pleasure or pain. Or heat, or cold, etc. :)

  • @SillyLitleGirl oh, how sad... anyway, he looked quite... "relaxed" after f*cking tasha on the second episode, but I guess it was a mistake made by the writers :-)

  • @JAZMINPISACO Ahh ha ha you're right! Or maybe Dr. Soong was smart enough to program in a sexual gratification algorithm into his positronic matrix.

    Good god I'm a nerd.

  • Awww...

    that was nice. :D

  • lol look at riker's smiloe at the end

  • I never understood how Data could only know about rage in the later episode, where he turned evil. He clearly did experience some positive happiness in this episode.

  • @MigDanskeren dude..... it was because of q who can do anything he wants... comment complete.

  • @focusandcreate

Doesn't matter HOW it happened, it happened..

  • @MigDanskeren okay i don't want to be rude, so we'll just agree to disagree. it makes perfect sense to me, and if it doesn't to you, then that's fine.

  • Hey spiner! Ur not too old! It's called a facelift!

  • La forge: Data why u laughing?

Data: I do not know, but it was a wonderful feeling...

  • Comment removed

  • Brent Spiner is just fucking awesome! Shame he's got too old to play Data again! Damn the aging process!!

  • @Buuuuuutch they could say data merely decided to add some age to his face so that others did not feel creeped out :P

  • @Slixer

Data ages. It's explained in one of the episodes Soong programmed him to age like a normal human. He doesn't get old and frail, but his appearance does change.

  • @Draknfyre That's true. It came pretty late, though, so it was a pretty obvious retcon to explain away Data's changing appearance. Still, not like it's unbelievable.

  • @TaintedMustard

I wouldn't consider it a retcon, since they never stated he wouldn't age.

He did say "I won't grow old and die", but that could be explained away as him meaning old as in frail.

I don't remember if it was before or after him saying he was programmed to age, but Soong's wife was recreated as an android, and when the hologram of Soong was explaining her to Data, he says he programmed her to live a long, full life, before passing away. Presumably she would visibly age, too.

  • @Draknfyre It was the same episode, actually. Geordi mentions Data's apparent aging in passing as he examines android Juliana:

"Not only does she age in appearance like Data, her vital signs change, too."

It ought to have been something they considered from the start, but sometimes writers overlook the smaller details and rely on the audience to suspend their disbelief. I still say it's a retcon, but not a bad one. It had to be addressed at some point.

  • One of the best Q episodes...

What was always great about him was that whe wasn't quite a villain, wasn't a good guy, and wasn't an all-owerful God, he COULD lose...

Q was like the Greek gods of old, with enormous power, but with feelings and passions and desires...

And his "going away present" to Data was just a great moment for TNG... and pretty much the perfect present for Data- who WOULDN'T want to have one, really amazing laugh like that?

I'd LOVE to see Q and DAta one more time

  • I met this man last month. Man he's awesome.

  • @itsthelala you did what did he say?

  • @copnite12342 It was at a comic convention in Calgary. He was sick and could hardly talk. We talked about random stuff and pounded fists. I also got his autograph.

  • 10 times funnier than that dancing storm trooper. Ranks up there us one off treks funniest scenes along with encounter at farpoints midget with a cowbell XD

  • this is by far my favourite scene from TNG, any episode with Q puts a smile on my face

  • LMAO! Brings tears to my eyes! :D

  • Data is alive! Lol. Apparently the new Star Trek film from 2009 is a follow up from a trilogy of comics ‘Star Trek: Countdown’ that were realised a few years ago. In the comics Data is now captain of the new Enterprise, thanks to the success of his neural net has been transferred to B4. He is helping Spock just before he disappears into the black hole. Yey!!! Data! :)

  • O.O contagious laughter!

  • gotta love data!

  • you can see this clip a 1000 times...I LOVE IT!

  • Vote Data for Joker in the next Batman movie. XD

  • @kaploy9 im with u

  • @kaploy9 honestly, Brent spiner would make a solid riddler.

  • data laughs like a chimpanzee.

  • @oohaflyingwatermelon yea but you have to admit it's contagious... how can you NOT laugh when you see Data laughing?

  • @xTrunkzx Oh I know, it's hilarious! I love it when weird stuff happens to Data.

  • that laugh is contiguous

  • haha really funny

  • Absolutely impossible not to laugh watching this...

  • Data is just plain adorable. XD

  • Brent Spiner is an excellent actor to make his laugh sound not quite human.

  • infectious laughter

  • Aww, that was both awesome and kind of sweet at the same time... and also kind of creepy. Data's laugh is way more high-pitched than you might expect.

  • q is all most like god with the power he got

  • Has Brent (Data) ever been nominated or given an Emmy for this role? One of his best roles

  • "I would never curse you by making you human." Such a great line...but ironically Data gives his life to save his Captain and crew, the most 'human' sacrifice one can make.

  • Brent is such great artist

  • Brent gives so much life to Data, and that laugh has to make EVERYONE at least smile.

    It's just so adorable.

  • well said

  • Q really did gave Data a good emotion!

  • I love how he turns to the captain with no emotion and then suddenly bursts out laughing. lol

  • Haha, he's so well into character as Data... I love that laugh!

  • i so love this sceen in this show and every time i wacth this langh head off

  • cause it was based on it. Did you see that other clip where he says it?
