New to the cult, bought the Movie because I recently acquired the "Essex Towing" Tow Truck located only 10 miles from this scene. My truck was built on Olympic Blvd also only blocks from "Pete's Repair" also on Olympic Blvd, "Plate-O-Shrimp" - Anyone? Alex?
As a person who has never seen this movie (I'll change that soon) this has to be one of the most confusing trailers I have ever seen. I'm still all like "Wuh?" Oh well.
I've seen it about 10 times, it gets better with each viewing because you're always catching stuff you missed . Every single line of dialogue is quotable, and there's tons of background shit going on you have to watch for.
@spamanator666 I tried watching "Men" several times, but often found myself wanting to do something else, unlike "Man" which always keeps me glued all the way. So.. I'd take Repo Man over Repo Men ANYTIME. Just me saying.
It's interesting that the tag number on the '64 Malibu, in the beginning of this trailer is different than the one at the end. Zander Schloss seems to have created the Napoleon Dynamite character long before Jon Heder used it. Straight to Hell was another Cox classic and favorite of mine.
Wasn't it the bomb he was talking to Otto about in the car. That seemed obvious to me. Fits in something as small as a suitcase, destroys people, and he invented it.
but it may be possible the backing band was The Plugz since Iggy Pop doesn't play instruments which would make it The Plugz version. Its also slightly different from the version with Iggy's vocals. I believe the Juicy Bananas was also The Plugz and all the other instrumental music in the movie.
@alelovato It is by Iggy Pop, written for this movie as the title song. The Plugz have a number of songs on this movie's soundtrack too, but the theme is by Iggy Pop.
I hate the fact that if I go to my local HMV now and browse through the DVD's Repo Man isn't there...but Repo Men, some lame crap with Jude ' I'm not bald!' Law and Forest 'Guess I can do anything now I've won an Oscar' Whittaker is! Grrrr!
Repo Man is in my local dvd rental place. There is a special edition I haven't seen yet. If you haven't already done so, ask the clerk if they have it.
@VietWaLkA it is about Emilio Estavez who finds salvation from the empty American dream and start working as a repoman for out of norm wild bunch. Tl;dr: one of the all-time best movies ever.
Man! Why were movies so awesome in the 80's and movies today suck so hard? I would rather stay at home and watch Repo Man, Evil Dead II, Vampire Hunter D, This is Spinal Tap, Bad Taste, and Conan the Barbarian over and over again than to go to the theater to see one of these mediocre newer films.
@AntiGravDisclosure oddly enough i had a plate of shrimp with some rice before watching this movie for the first time... cosmic unconsciousness? i think so my friend :]
I just watched this movies for the first time since I was a kid when it was new. I don't know if they intended it to be so ridiculous or it just came out that way. The "gang members," Otto's old friends, acted nothing like hardcore tough guys, and the whole "I blame society" thing when they rob the store and get shot just cracks me up. His dying words were "I blame society." Hillarious!
Doesn't this story about Otto bare resemblance to the story of the radioactive boyscott David Hahn he kept radioactive material in barrels in a shed. When it got to radioactive, he decided to move it to the trunk of his plymouth.
Later policed stoped him when he tried to steel wheels from another car, and they found some pretty radiating stuff in his trunk.
Anyone more who see resemblance of the stories, problem is David hahn the radioactive scout was after the movie.
loved this. wanted to be emilio, and pathetically emulated him down to the haircut and shirt. only thing is - his parents were losers. mine were actually responsible, and strict, and therefore posed much more of a challenge to my rebellion!
"Suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp, suddenly somebody'll say like, 'plate' or 'shrimp', or 'plate of shrimp' outta the blue, no explanation." LMAO XD
This is probably Emilio's best movie, by far. I know it's my personal favorite. Gotta love it! I think I'm gonna go make me a plate of shrimp right now....
I used to watch this movie over and over again as a kid, bought the soundtrack too and loved it. Got it on dvd recently (about 10 years since the last time i watched it) and I still like it!

No its not, it was too fast or so, thats why The Plugz, who really do have some other songs on the OST, redid the theme.

@spamanator666 The Plugz have two of the best songs on the whole of the soundtrack - especially the closing sequence. Top band.
