@lubui2583 on one of the special features on the 10th anniversary DVD the directors said that Jason Segel originally carved the watermelon to look like something, but they couldn't use it because the movie was to be rated PG-13. Then one of the directors said, "So you know what Jason was thinking when he was filming that scene."
