Cape Breton should get the province of Nova Scotia to better advertise its lovely areas. It is not well enough known at all. There are some true gems within in the Cape Breton landscape. In the fall they have CelticColours musicfest and some of the best artists and musicians play in numerous venues all over the island. The province of Nova Scotia should be promoting that now - heavily! They offer some beautifl scenery and art in this area.

Yes - it is Rankin Family singing the second song. It's called "Leis An Lurgainn" in Gaelic. There is a re-mix version of it on their North Country CD. In English the song is called- Grey Dusk Of Eye (Portobello).

Excellent video! It brought a tear to my eye just reminiscing about home. I'm living in Scotland right now- my first time living anywhere else but Cape Breton, and my goodness it's not easy! You can take the girl out of Cape Breton but you can't take the Cape Breton out of the girl!!

Cape Breton Island is now rated the 4th. ( out of 10 ) most beautiful Islands in the world to visit . There is something awsome liveing 200 feet from the Ocean . The view from ny front deck is the ocean , I am blessed for sure .Thanks for shareing .

I was born and still live on Cape Breton island myself and haven't really been anywhere else. Cape Breton is and always will be my home, There is know where I would rather be.
